This morning, Nintendo unveiled new profile icons inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past specifically for Nintendo Switch Online users. As seen by ComicBook, the collectible icons feature portraits of Link, Zelda, and three other characters from the iconic SNES title.

How to Access the Zelda Icons

To access these exclusive icons, subscribers need to engage with their gaming nostalgia by launching the SNES app on their Nintendo console and starting The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

There's no need to dive deep into gameplay; simply booting up the game is enough to unlock the ability to acquire these icons, each costing 10 Platinum Points.

Zelda Icons Won't Last Forever

Remember, the availability of these unique icons will expire next month. Once the offer concludes, these specific icons may never be available again, as Nintendo seldom re-releases promotional items of this nature.

A Classic Revisit

For those who might not be familiar, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a revered action-adventure game that first graced Japan in 1991 before making its way to North America in 1992.

As the third installment in The Legend of Zelda series and an SNES exclusive, it is celebrated not only as a seminal game of its time but also as one of the greatest video games ever created.

What About Live-Action Zelda Movie

For curious fans who can't wait to see the live-action adaption of one of Nintendo's most popular franchises, seeing The Legend of Zelda movie on a big screen is a "dream come true."

As filmmaker Wes Ball says, the film is so intense that even Nintendo won't let him spoil anything about it.

GamesRadar reports that Ball was even anxious about the adaptation because he has known Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto for a very long time.

If the live-action Zelda movie keeps you waiting, you can check the upcoming Switch games of 2024 here.

Some of them already came out a few months ago including Mario vs Donkey Kong, Unicorn Overlord, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Some of them are still waiting to be added on the Switch library anytime soon.

On top of our excitement about these games, nothing is comparable when Big N President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that Switch's successor is coming next year. It's the best announcement so far.
