The renowned streaming platform YouTube Music will soon be available to Gemini as an extension, and it will integrate the experience to help play songs, artists, playlists, and more from artificial intelligence. This integration will allow users to play YouTube Music directly from the generative AI app, connecting their accounts and experiences to Gemini. 

YouTube Music's streaming will still be separate from Google's generative AI, but having Gemini would give users an integrated experience for music entertainment needs.

YouTube Music is Coming to Gemini AI as an Extension

Google's Gemini is adding a YouTube Music integration sometime in the future, and according to Android Authority, they were able to test how this feature works. The report claimed that Gemini will have the capabilities to access and manage YouTube Music content like songs, artists, and playlists and help users discover more experiences.

This integration will help connect YouTube Music to Gemini. Users will only need to talk to the chatbot to get the renowned music streaming experience tailored to their needs or requests.

It would soon be found under the "Extensions" menu. Gemini is known for its other Google apps integrations, such as Flights, Hotels, Google Maps, the Workspace suite apps, and the main YouTube platform.

Gemini AI to Help Play Songs and More in YT Music

For instance, users who have connected their YouTube Music app to Gemini may ask the chatbot to look for songs in a particular genre. The AI would then bring results for them. Apart from that, Gemini could also help play the song per the user's commands, including searching for other content like albums, artists, playlists, and the like. 

Google's Gemini AI

Google brought Gemini back in December 2023, and the company promised a multimodal AI model that would expand the experience of utilizing artificial intelligence and its generative capabilities. While it is touted as ChatGPT's rival, it is boasted of by Google as its most advanced model yet, known for replacing Bard, centering on its large-language model development. 

Apart from being able to answer questions and power Google's AI across its renowned apps and work suite apps, Gemini also has various features that help in the more technical aspects of development. Last month, Google added a feature for Gemini under the 1.5 Pro version that could listen to audio files to round up the valuable information it holds and skip the need for written transcripts to analyze.

Various improvements have been made for Gemini in recent Google updates, with an upcoming one aiming to offer real-time responses for users. 

The Gemini app may be another app, but it offers certain features that allow AI to integrate more services and experiences, like the upcoming YouTube Music integration.
