Microsoft confirmed the date for its Xbox Game Showcase, which will take place in 2024. The event will commence in mid-year, and people are invited to watch via live-streaming platforms.

However, this is not the only event taking place. Microsoft said that it will be closely followed by another one, and the company is still keeping this under wraps for its fans.

The company is gearing up for this massive showcase, featuring new developments from its acquisitions and divisions.

Microsoft announced in a new press release that the Xbox Game Showcase will take place this Sunday, June 9, at 10 AM Pacific Time (1 PM ET) to bring their latest developments and more to its fans.

The software company is now asking users to mark their calendars for this massive event, one that will be followed by a blacked-off showcase following it.

It is unknown what this redacted event is, but Microsoft claimed it would be similar to its "double-feature" last year, in which the Starfield Direct followed the Xbox Game Showcase.

The Xbox Game Showcase would be available to watch via live streams on Xbox's YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. It would be offered in over 30 languages and have a dedicated channel for American Sign Language.

Redacted Event, Xbox Showcase—What to Expect?

The latest teaser for the [REDACTED] Direct event suggests that it will be a dedicated game showcase for a title the company still keeps secret.

That said, Microsoft claimed that it would feature Bethesda Softworks, Activision Blizzard, Xbox Game Studios, and third-party partners for the first time in its history.

However, it missed out last year with Activision Blizzard because of the merger's hindrances.

Xbox and Microsoft's Gaming Division

Xbox and Microsoft's Gaming Division was no longer flying solo after its first acquisition of Bethesda Softworks, a deal it had completed in 2020.

It now owns renowned franchises, including Fallout, Doom, and The Elder Scrolls.

However, it did not end there, as October 2023 saw the successful merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, centering on the $69 billion purchase of the gaming company to join its growing family.

With these ownerships, Microsoft's Gaming Division exploded, reporting 49 percent revenue growth thanks to Activision Blizzard's acquisition, as reflected in its Q2 2024 report. However, Xbox's hardware sales are currently down.

This is only the beginning of a new era for Xbox and Microsoft's Gaming Division as it moves forward with the reinforcement of these two gaming corporations.

The upcoming Xbox Game Showcase this June marks the first time that the three aspects of Microsoft Gaming will come together, offering massive announcements to the world alongside its highly secretive redacted event that follows.
