Bethesda's popular MMO-style game, Fallout 76, has just received a substantial update that will enhance the gaming experience across various platforms.
Available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Steam, and the Microsoft Store, this update addresses critical bugs and introduces user-friendly enhancements, making it a noteworthy improvement for the game's community.
The patch notes also revealed sad news for Cremator, one of the most powerful weapons in Atlantic City. However, thanks to several tweaks, it's still usable.
Fallout 76 Update Requirements
The latest patch, requiring an average storage space, varies by platform: 23.1 GB on Xbox, 19.8GB on the Microsoft Store, 19.2GB on PlayStation, and 12.1GB on Steam. This comprehensive update is designed to refine gameplay and stabilize the increasingly popular game after introducing new content in previous updates.
Cremator Weapon Adjustment and Bug Fixes
The latest update focuses on fixing game-breaking those, specifically those that affect players' progress in the Atlantic City storyline such as "Sins of the Father," "Buried Treasure," and "Honor Bound."
Notably, an issue with the explosion damage calculation that excessively powered the Cremator weapon has been adjusted, according to Windows Central.
Due to this bug, the Cremator, known for its explosive fireballs, was performing beyond Bethesda's intentions. While the fix reduces its burst damage, Bethesda has compensated by tweaking other aspects of the weapon to maintain its effectiveness, ensuring it remains a potent choice for players.
Enhancements to Seasonal Event Crafting and Trading
The patch significantly modifies how seasonal event crafting recipes and items are handled. Players can now obtain duplicates of these items and trade them with others, a change from the previous limitation where recipes, once acquired, could not be reobtained or shared. This adjustment will aid players in completing their collections and support new players in advancing their in-game capabilities.
Quality of Life Improvements
Further additions aimed at improving player interaction with the game include:
- A new "max" option for vendor transactions simplifies the buying and selling process.
- Alphabetical sorting of World Activities to help players organize their quests more efficiently.
- A smoother inventory scrollbar for easier navigation.
- An "ammo per shot" stat for weapons, providing clear information on ammunition consumption with each use.
This update comes at a time when Fallout 76 is experiencing a resurgence in player activity, spurred by the successful release of the Fallout TV show. The update builds on the momentum from the game's previous expansion, "Atlantic City - America's Playground," which introduced players to new narratives and characters, enriching the game's lore and engagement.
