If you are part of the iPhone Upgrade Program, you may have received an email from Apple regarding a trade-in 'canceled' notice which claims that the loan behind this will 'resume.'
However, reports now claim that this glitch is widespread among Apple users, and those who were part of the trade-in program are getting this email from the company's official domain.
Users who received this email have corroborated that they have been getting it from Apple, and it is not an isolated case for several iPhone owners who are part of the program.
Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program Glitch: Trade-In 'Canceled' Emails
Multiple users shared their latest email from Apple via Reddit, X, and other social media platforms as the message reads, "We never received your iPhone" via the iPhone Upgrade Program.
One user claimed that Apple said that they canceled their trade-in, completed last September 2023, when the iPhone 15 was released.
Reports claimed this is a glitch on Apple's end, with their system incorrectly identifying users who have not completed the program despite doing so months ago.
Additionally, most reports claimed that this was centered on their transition from the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 15 device, with the said loan said to "resume."
There is a Glitch, But Apple Has Yet to Address It
The glitch and email may be ignored by users who have completed this transaction, said 9to5Mac, with Apple not yet acknowledging or addressing the issue at hand.
Moreover, it is reported that it is a problem on Apple's end, not a phishing campaign launched against trade-in users under the program.
Apple's Glitch and Bugs
Glitches and bugs are not new to the tech industry, and Apple, despite being one of the top-regarded companies in the world, is not safe from it as well.
Previously, there was an Apple TV+ glitch that prevented users from watching their preferred movies or series fully. The issue cut off the endings when the credits first appeared for the stream.
Apple's famed Apple ID system also experienced several downtimes, with users claiming it was unavailable to log in and use the features it offers for their specific devices.
The company was said to have experienced backend errors, mainly because many users complained about the unavailable Apple Pay services and other apps from Cupertino.
Now, it is not Apple's services that are experiencing errors and problems but a glitch in Apple's systems that keeps track of the trade-in program and those who purchased new iPhone 15s last year.
Users claim that despite sending their old devices for Apple to pay for part of the new device, the system claimed that they did not do so. Cupertino has yet to respond to the issue.
