LeBron James has recently been spotted carrying what seems to be an unreleased Pill speaker from Apple's popular Beats line.
In an Instagram reel posted by the Lakers account prior to the team's first-round playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets, we see the 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar carrying a device that tech experts quickly identified as a leaked Apple gadget (many believe it was a deliberate ad).
In case you did not know, LeBron James is one of the first and most prominent supporters and investors of the speaker brand founded by hip-hop producer Dr. Dre. One teammate has even said that the basketball superstar made around $700 million with his Beats investment, although official reports say James collected still an impressive $30 million from the Apple acquisition in 2014.
LeBron James Reveals Unreleased Apple Beats Pill Speaker
Now, back to the speaker. MacRumors tells us that what James was sporting in Denver is a comeback of the Pill speaker discontinued in 2022, as noted by the iconic Beats by Dre logo and the addition of a lanyard not present in previous iterations of the product.
If you are a fan of the Apple Beats brand, reports tell us that this new speaker will likely come with a USB-C port for charging, following a new trend Apple denies was made to comply with sweeping EU regulations.
Furthermore, it has been nine years since the final design of the Pill+ was made available to the public, indicating that significant advancements in the Bluetooth technology used by Apple for products such as AirPods may be available with LeBron James' teased device.
Aside from connectivity improvements, Apple has the arsenal to pack this potential next-gen Bluetooth speaker with advanced audio performance and even more improved battery life. Phone Arena tells us in a report that this new speaker could be out soon, along with the new Beats Solo 4 headphones expected to be released next month.
Despite a loss against the Denver Nuggets in Game 1, it looks like the King is making it rain anyway with a new Beats product on the way.
