WhatsApp has announced the rollout of new Chat Filters, aiming to streamline message management and improve user experience within the app.
If you find scrolling through your inbox tiring, this feature could be the key to alleviating the stress that you're experiencing when doing this thing.
What Does Chat Filters Do
The latest update introduces three primary filters at the top of the main conversation list. According to the latest blog post of WhatsApp, here's what you can expect about this feature.
- All: This filter provides a comprehensive view of all your messages, serving as the default option for message browsing.
- Unread: Ideal for users looking to catch up on unread messages or prioritize responses, this filter displays conversations marked as unread or those that haven't been opened yet.
- Groups: Responding to user demand, WhatsApp now offers a dedicated filter for group chats, enabling users to conveniently access and organize all group conversations in one place. Whether it's coordinating family events or planning group outings, this feature enhances group chat management by showcasing subgroups of Communities.
Moreover, WhatsApp assures users that the Chat Filters feature is currently rolling out and will soon be accessible to all users on both iOS and Android platforms.
What is WhatsApp Planning to Launch Soon
In addition to Chat Filters, WhatsApp is also working on a feature allowing users to pin their favorite channels to the top of the Channels list in the Updates screen, MacRumors reports.
Similar to pinning chats, this feature enables users to prioritize channels they frequently engage with. Initially, users will be able to pin up to three channels, with the possibility of expanding to five channels in the future. As of now, this feature is exclusively available to WhatsApp beta users.
In Febuary, another WhatsApp update allowed users to catch up with their friends easier. With the help of Stories, they can know the recent happenings of their loved ones.
WhatsApp Saves People Stuck in the Rain
WhatsApp, just like Messenger is only used for casual chatting with people. However, a strange report brought by Khaleej Times said that the messaging platform became the key to saving stranded strangers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
When Angel, a sales executive from the Philippines thought that they wouldn't be saved anymore due to heavy rainfall that continued to pour for seven hours.
At the time, he and his wife Bella, who was pregnant for 8 months could not think of any way to get out of this situation. Fortunately, he felt relief when one of the members of the WhatsApp group "Rain Support" asked them if they wanted to stay in one of the residence houses in Business Bay.
Moments later, an Indian expat rescued them and allowed them to stay in a two-bedroom apartment. If it wasn't for a WhatsApp group, they would endure hours of being stranded in the middle of the intense rainfall.
