Instagram is getting an update for its famed Notes feature. Instead of being seen on the DMs tab only, it will now be displayed on the Profile page for more visibility for users.
This means that your Notes and other people's entries to this renowned feature can be seen when viewing their profiles, and this would no longer be a need for the user to search for a specific name in the carousel of notes on the DMs.
The stint of Notes on the Instagram inbox was a welcome addition. People gave short updates to their friends, and later, another feature was added where users could reply to them.
Instagram Notes Are Coming to the Profile
Instagram Notes, its status update short message feature, will soon be available on an account owner's profile page, Engadget reported.
This move significantly revamps the experience, particularly as it was made available to the inbox only. This change will make it more prominent and visible to other users by simply visiting their or others' profile pages.
Like how it is portrayed in the inbox, Instagram's notes feature a dialogue cloud pop containing a user's short blurb.
It will also be available for direct interactions through the Notes reply feature Instagram introduced last December.
See the Notes Without Going to DMs
The Notes feature was made available to the DMs before, and users who want to browse for their friends' Notes on Instagram would have to sort through them via the inbox.
This means that all of their followed accounts' Notes would be available here without the chance to single out a specific user.
With this new feature, Instagram now allows users to single out an account's Notes and interact with them directly on their Profiles.
Instagram and its Features
Meta is dedicated to each of its social media platform's apps. Instagram is one of the top platforms available in the market, with massive features showing its regular introduction to its users.
One of the most important features introduced this year was the ability to edit messages sent on Instagram DMs, similar to what the company introduced to Messenger.
One feature that Meta introduced this year faced massive backlash, and this is Instagram limiting the political content that users see on their respective feeds.
The good thing is that users may change this experience by turning off the political content limitations on their profiles, a feature that Meta claimed to be a security measure against widespread spam or fake news.
In recent months, Instagram has achieved a milestone, surpassing TikTok in app downloads following the looming ban on Chinese social media.
That being said, Instagram is following up on the features available on the platform, with the likes of Notes appearing on one's profile, alongside Cutouts, and more available on the app.
