By incorporating used genuine Apple parts, repairs can now benefit from the full functionality and security standards of original factory calibration, aligning with Apple's goal towards sustainability and product longevity.

Over the past two years, Apple teams have worked diligently to enable the reuse of crucial components like biometric sensors without compromising user safety.
With the upcoming enhancement, calibration for genuine Apple parts, whether new or used, will occur on the device post-installation.
Activation Lock Feature Extended to iPhone Parts
Acknowledging the importance of deterring iPhone theft, Apple will extend its Activation Lock feature to iPhone parts. This feature aims to prevent stolen iPhones from being dismantled for parts, providing added security for consumers and addressing concerns raised by both customers and law enforcement officials.
Transparency Through Parts and Service History
Apple is committed to transparency regarding a device's repair history, ensuring that second or third owners have access to comprehensive information about their device.
Through Parts and Service History, users can now view whether their device has been repaired and whether new or used genuine Apple parts were used in the process.
Expanding Access to Safe and Affordable Repairs
Over the past five years, Apple has significantly expanded access to genuine Apple parts and repair services, nearly doubling the number of service locations globally.
From Independent Repair Providers to Apple Authorized Service Providers, the network now encompasses over 10,000 locations worldwide. Additionally, the Self Service Repair program, launched in 2022, offers access to manuals, genuine parts, and tools used in Apple Store and Authorized Service Provider locations.
The Cupertino firm is headed towards improving access to safe and affordable repairs for customer satisfaction and environmental stewardship with the new process.
