After the delay in the arrival of the iPad Pro and iPad Air in March and April, they were said to be coming this May. Alongside this, Apple will also affect the new pricing for the tablet much more compared to past releases.
Reports now claim that this release of the iPad Pro M3 will feature an OLED display, which is one of the top factors behind its more expensive pricing.
This would be one of the biggest price increases for the iPad Pro lineup in its history, but this would also be the first time it will feature a new chip and display that centers on a premium product.
Apple's iPad Pro to See Price Increase with New Model
According to a report by DigiTimes (via 9to5 Mac), there would be a price increase on the new iPad Pro models that are said to be coming next month. The previous pricing starts at $799 for the 11-inch variant and $1,099 for the 12.9-inch screens.
Apple will charge customers as much as a $160 price increase for the new iPad, with the iPad Pro starting at nearly $1,000 for the 11-inch variant and under $1,300 for the 12.9-inch.
This is due to Apple's decision to use OLED displays for the new iPad Pros, which will focus on top-of-the-line versions of the OLED. It would not be a regular OLED; it will stack two tandem OLEDs combined with a hybrid glass-polyamide film to improve brightness and reduce OLED burn-in.
Previous reports claim the new iPad Pros will start at $1,500 and $1,800.
iPad Pro M3 with OLED Display Coming in May
The more expensive iPad Pro M3 with OLED will be coming this May, according to reports, with many corroborating that it is still arriving this year to usher in the new models of the iPad.
It would focus on four releases, including the two-screen variant of the iPad Pro, and it will go alongside the 11-inch and the all-new 12.9-inch version of the iPad Air.
What to Expect from the New iPad Pro
Initially, it was said that Apple would bring the new iPad Pro by March 2024; it is also the same time as previous iPad releases, best known as its annual release date during its regular availability. However, it skipped a release in 2023, making 2024 one of the anticipated years of the iPad Pro and iPad Air's update, both regarded as the models that will get a new release, but it was delayed.
This is because Apple is already planning to develop new tech for the iPad Pro, particularly with the M3 chipset to power it and an OLED display that would leave behind the Liquid Retina XDR, a.k.a. the mini LED.
With Apple missing two months of the supposed iPad release windows, that being March and April, reports are now centering on a May release date for the new tablets, including the iPad Pro and iPad Air.
There are still high hopes and beliefs that an iPad release will take place this May, centering on the iPad Pro with its 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants and the iPad Air, which will also bring a new 12.9-inch variant.
However, the iPad Pro, apart from the chip and display changes, will also feature a new pricing, which is more expensive than people were used to in the past.
