Standalone ESPN Coming by 2025, Still Available on Disney Bundle for Online Streaming

ESPN+ will have its exclusive subscription, outside the Disney bundle.

No need to worry, sports fans, as The Walt Disney Company confirmed that ESPN will still have its standalone subscription to launch by 2025, one that moves out of the bundle. Despite this, it will still be available for users to purchase under the Disney bundle that offers the three streaming platforms of the company including Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.

For now, the work on this development of ESPN's standalone service is ongoing, centering on a sports streaming experience on its own.

ESPN to Get its Standalone Subscription by 2025

The full suite of ESPN is getting its standalone subscription app come fall of 2025, and this was confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger at the recent annual shareholders meeting. However, not much was revealed by Iger regarding ESPN's future, especially as this would transcend the television streaming experience to the online platform app the company is currently working on.

Iger regarded this as the "full suite" of ESPN, and it only means that it may replicate the TV experience on the mobile app, on its streaming platform.

Additionally, it will also feature a customizable, personal experience that also offers interactive features for the games and other content available.

Disney Bundle with ESPN+ Still Available

That being said, the Disney bundle which offers Disney+ alongside ESPN+ and Hulu is still available, particularly as the ESPN integration into the streaming platform already launched last week. ESPN+ is already offering the experience but only features several live events, one that would set it apart from the said standalone ESPN streaming app coming next year.

ESPN and The Walt Disney Company

ESPN+ is a standalone streaming service that has a dedicated app for users to watch all of their sports entertainment needs for its partner leagues.

However, The Walt Disney Company's plans for ESPN are set to make Disney+ massive, centering on the merging of its three streaming platforms under one service. This includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ content available under one super app from the company, with Disney+ retaining its brand, and content from the other two would be available from here.

As effected earlier this year, ESPN+ will now be a part of Disney+ and the Disney bundle for subscription streaming, with the platform soon accessible exclusively on the Disney app.

However, the integration into Disney+ may be taking place now, but not for long as ESPN+ will get another standalone app come the fall of 2025, one that will set it apart from the main app. While users may still get the Disney bundle that combines all three for one payment only, users who are not so interested in Disney+ and Hulu may get a standalone sports streaming experience soon.
