Last week's top headlines centered on NVIDIA, Apple, and Instagram's top developments.

Tech Times Weekly Wrap is here to get you up to speed on last week's top tech developments in the world, with NVIDIA stepping into AI-powered healthcare with its latest developments, as part of its new direction. It also goes alongside Apple's release of the Vision Pro to China, as confirmed by Tim Cook, with it being the second country to receive the renowned XR headset.

Lastly, there are also the controversial changes from Meta on Instagram, with the platform making it default to limit political content which now concerns its users.

NVIDIA's AI Healthcare Outperforms Rivals

NVIDIA's recent team-up with Hippocratic AI delivered AI-powered health agents that were recently tested in the industry, and the renowned semiconductor company claimed that it was able to outperform its rivals like OpenAI and Meta.

In a test with Hippocratic agents, the company revealed that it outperformed its rivals like GPT-4 and LLaMA 2 70B Chat for its application in healthcare settings, centering on non-diagnostic assignments.

The internal testing of Hippocratic's agents powered by NVIDIA saw more than 40 beta partners use the latest integration of the tech, centering on chronic care management, health risk assessments, pre-operative outreach, surveys on the social determinants of health, wellness coaching, and follow-up after discharge.

According to Hippocratic, these AI health agents may potentially solve the healthcare industry's problems like staff shortages and getting access to high-quality treatments.

Apple Vision Pro Confirmed for China

Tim Cook recently announced at the China Development Forum in Beijing that later this year, the Apple Vision Pro will arrive in mainland China. It makes China the second country, next to the United States, to receive the renowned AR/VR headset from Cupertino since it was made publicly available last February.

Cook's announcement was a response to circulating leaks about Apple releasing the Vision Pro to China at the time of the event. However, instead of last week's release amid the forum, it would be coming later in the East Asian region.

This visit by the Apple CEO recognizes China as an important manufacturing hub, looking to expand more of its R&D industry in the future. It was not revealed how much Apple and Cook would invest in the country, but promises were made.

According to Reuters, this is Cook's way to increase more of Apple's market share in China.

Instagram Limits Political Content

Meta limited the political content on Instagram and Threads last month, and this is only the time that users have begun seeing the changes, now reacting gravely against this decision by the social media company. Various users took it up to posts on X to reveal that Instagram's current settings are limiting political content by default, claiming that this was done behind their backs.

It was said that Meta did not notify its customers about these changes from February, with the company announcing it via a news release from last month.

Users may change this default limiting on Instagram's Settings, by going to the Suggested Content option which will show Political Content options to toggle "Limit" or "Don't Limit" its availability on one's feed.
