ZynCoin blazes a trail in cryptocurrency marketing. For the uninitiated, ZynCoin ($ZYN) qualifies as an offshoot of meme coins, now known as "culture coins." Previous meme coin marketing campaigns adhered to an almost standardized template to entice investors. This cryptocurrency is rewriting the textbook altogether.
Crypto marketing campaigns deployed a mix of organic and paid promotion on social media to funnel traffic to exchanges or communities off-platform, such as Telegram. Nevertheless, ZynCoin seeks to go beyond the outmoded methods by tapping into a pre-existing loyal consumer base. Meme coins historically enjoyed traditional forms of cryptocurrency marketing. Once developers honed in on a beloved internet meme such as "Doge" or "Harambe," much of the leg work was considered done. Due to these iconic memes' mass appeal, the inborn virality of these memes, and the subcultural intersection between crypto natives and meme culture, having to push meme coins through a multitude of channels became somewhat redundant. Granted, initial pushes to draw attention to meme coins would have been necessary to instill a sense of trust in a battlefield littered with proverbial mines; in the form of rug pulls, young risk-seeking investors could support coins embodying memes they grew up with. Nostalgia sells—hence why Disney, Marvel, and Netflix revert to recreating childhood classics for a quick buck. Here, however, more than just a quick buck can be made from their favorite memes hailing from the golden age of social media.
Memes do have a limiting factor. There is a lack of a cult of personality. While many theme pages on social media create content dedicated to a certain meme, there isn't the same level of interpersonal attachment. A meme can't speak to you. A meme can't interact with you. A meme can evolve over time but doesn't grow like a person or brand can. Once a meme is made, additions or external social events can enhance the meme, but it ends there. Even though some memes develop associated parlance, such as the comical "wow" and grammatical errors in "Doge's" lore and the more profane "D***s out for Harambe," memes have a shelf life. They can enter internet stardom. They can be dusted off and reused. They can become universally recognizable symbols. Yet they will never receive the same emotional investment from their audiences as established brands—both personal and corporate.
Social media users often defend their favorite influencers to the hilt. Parasocial relationships between audiences and influencers are often formed. Fanfiction for personal brands and celebrities tends to be more profound. When consumers love a product, chaos may ensue if that product were to move in an unsavory direction. Fitness influencer Liver King, who championed a doctrine of natural 'ancestral living,' became the internet's persona non grata after he was outed for consuming upwards of $11,000 in performance-enhancing drugs per month. His faithful followers turned into rabid haters overnight when the scandal was leaked. Coca-Cola faced unprecedented pushback when they released 'New Coke' in 1985, ultimately forcing them to adopt the original recipe, which was decades before the dawn of social media. Either way, brands can command a significantly more fanatical following than any meme can.
Enter culture coins. Over the past few years, marketing campaigns for meme coins have been relatively straightforward. First, developers would need to create a token based on a popular internet meme. Second, awareness through Telegram and Discord channels would need to be raised before launch. Third, airdrops acted as an incentive to drum up hype around the coin, encouraging recipients to use the coin's symbol or hashtag on social media. Fourth, social media pages—predominantly on X (formerly known as Twitter)—dedicated to the coin would need to be made. Fifth, an exclusive Telegram and/or Discord channel to invite holders of that coin to share memes and news. Sixth, the creation of social media bots to flood comments sections of viral pages or message boards promoting the coin to further its reach. Seventh, onboarding high authority influencers in crypto spaces. Then, once the coin gains traction, guest posts on reputable websites with the view to driving more traffic to the coin would also help with improving the coin's SEO as an indirect consequence.
While ZynCoin does all of the above, their marketing team has gone one further. While memes enjoy their own intrinsic virality or nostalgia grabs, culture coins are able to reach a wider, more loyal audience. Various culture coins continue to smash all-time highs, with some coins reaching eight-figure market caps in just a few hours. Culture coins such as $JESUS, $TRUMP, and Jeo Bodan (a tongue-in-cheek depiction of US President Joe Biden) all saw meteoric rises. But, for them, the personalities they mimic market themselves. ZynCoin draws inspiration from the Swedish nicotine pouch "Zyn." Zyn offers a handy crossover to the team's developers for a few reasons, chiefly since many crypto natives, entrepreneurs, investors, and fitness aficionados alike regularly profess their predilection for the smoke-free nicotine product. Targeting your key demographics by offering a token that honors one of their favorite products, which many deem integral to their day-to-day routine, rouses ample interest.
Furthermore, Zyn consumers tend to be politically aligned against the current establishment in financial spaces. ZynCoin had part of their work cut out for them with enormous levels of free publicity when Senator Chuck Schumer announced that Zyn would be in his crosshairs as governments around the world crack down on nicotine-related products. In the aftermath of Schumer's words, a mighty online backlash ensued, with political figures and internet Zyn consumers alike launching a so-called "Zynsurrection" to voice their disapproval. Lawmakers and journalists cast their attention to the prevalence of Zyn consumption. Many large publications, such as Vox and The Guardian, penned pieces decrying the association between Zyn consumption and problematic internet pockets. Other publications flagged the demerit good's level of virality. Zyn memes often gain millions of impressions per post. One Instagram Influencer who goes by "Freezer Tarps" has amassed over 400,000 followers memeing Zyn. In fact, Zyn's memetics has advanced to the point where phrases born out of Zyn memes, such as "Zynbabwe" and "Double-deckies," have permeated their way into quasi-common parlance. Concerns have arisen over younger, impressionable audiences who consume viral Zyn content, with fears over peer pressure being a gateway into nicotine consumption. Albeit, from the perspective of ZynCoin, current events pressuring for the ban of Zyn countered by knee-jerk pushback, and millions of eyeballs exposed to Zyn content on social media will segue nicely for the cryptocurrency as developers can ride its coattails. Yet, as Zyn's stock rises, so will ZynCoin's. The cryptocurrency launched an audacious program to reach millions of crypto novices and complement the nicotine pouch's organic growth. Effectively, each Zyn consumer can scan each can of Zyn they buy.
In the past, Zyn offered a generous rewards program. The developers of ZynCoin added an option to acquire ZynCoin with each can. ZynCoin's founder signaled an intention to target non-crypto natives. What better than to target a loyal audience devoted to a product conservative pundit Tucker Carlson heralded as "life-changing"? By focusing on a loyal fanbase, ZynCoin could potentially bring in a substantial number of exclusive new crypto holders. The majority of crypto marketing schemes rarely go beyond targeting crypto natives, with the objective of harpooning a few crypto whales while riding the initial waves generated by smaller investors once the coin stabilizes. ZynCoin has made a bold statement by offering itself to the wider public. A large source of friction inhibiting outsiders from investing in crypto—aside from fears of scams, risk, and volatility—is the inscrutable nature of crypto. Juggling a range of exchanges and wallets can be extremely daunting.
Crypto natives struggle to demystify the nebulous processes for entering crypto exchanges. But ZynCoin has created simplified how-to guides demonstrating how an Average Joe can secure their ZynCoin without faffing around on YouTube videos or lengthy esoteric blog posts. Although many crypto users may be Zyn users, many Zyn users aren't into crypto. The easy-to-follow guides facilitate that transition. And the sky seems to be the limit; meme coins $PEPE and $DOGE hit all-time highs in the multiple billions through much organic marketing on social media. In the case of the latter, Elon Musk's fanboying on X helped propel the coin to stellar all-time highs in its infancy. Now, both coins are mainstays on crypto exchanges.
ZynCoin, on the other hand, managed to hit an all-time high of over $140M in a few weeks with barely any marketing other than a few personal brands and Telegram groups. Dozens of amateur crypto analysts have declared their bullishness for ZynCoin. Several casual investors post about ZynCoin on a daily basis. Now, with a fiery few arrows in their quiver and a raging bull run predicted by analysts, the planets seem to align for this project. The momentum appears to snowball for this project on multiple levels.
