The Patriots and Seahawks were tied at 14 as the first half came to a close at Super Bowl XLIX, but the fireworks were only getting started.
And Katy Perry wasn't kidding when she said we're going to hear her roar. The singer opened the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show riding a gigantic bronze lion that walked down the field as she sang her hit single "Roar" off her latest album Prism.
There were sharks, balls—which were not deflated—fireworks, quick outfit changes, a guest appearance by Lenny Kravitz and a surprise appearance by Missy Elliott.
Overall, her performance was explosive, and the Internet noticed, with thousands taking to Twitter to react. Here are the highlights of Perry's performance.
Pretty much, everyone was impressed by Perry riding that lion. However, her outfit of choice, an orange and gold number with flames, made her look like Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games as she entered the arena. Let the games begin!
Others compared it to Blades of Glory:

And former WWE bruiser, Bam Bam Bigelow:

There was a convenient comparison recap:
So far, Twitter has compared #KatyPerrySuperBowl fire outfit to Blades of Glory, a Transformer, Guy Fieri, He-Man and Human Torch.

Then Kravtiz rocked besides her to "I Kissed A Girl":

And the world rejoiced.
Hi @LennyKravitz. You and @katyperry were stunning at the Super Bowl halftime as Chenoa and Bisbal in OT1 ♥ https://t.co/omC0QNenGR

Then there were adorable dancing sharks.

And sad beach balls.

Was she trying to say something?
#KatyPerrySuperBowl Were the giant beach balls in the #TeenageDream/#CaliforniaGurrls mashup a sly homage to #TomBradysBalls? #KatyPerry — Brad Linden (@BradLindenSoCal) February 2, 2015
Then surprise guest Missy Elliot, according to Twitter, stole the show.
It was so charitable that Missy Elliot let Katy Perry open and close for her at the super bowl :~) — Kuh-Reem (@WTFKAREEM) February 2, 2015
Hey Katy Petty I'm gonna let you finish but Missy Elliot had the greatest super bowl half time performance of all time. — Sonia Hawks (@sonia_hawkss) February 2, 2015
Then Perry did a quick outfit change to sing "Firework" wearing a silver star dress, which made her kind of look like the Statue of Liberty, as she stood on a platform that made her fly like a shooting star.

Tell me you didn't think of The Interview.
When Katy Perry sang "Firework" last night, all I could think of were those hilarious scenes from The Interview. — William Heatley (@Gui182Will) February 2, 2015
