Threads Brings ‘Trending Now’ on Search But Only in the US

Meta delivers a new Threads feature now but only for the US.

A new feature on Threads is here, and it is the much-awaited 'Trending Now' topics that detail the top conversations and talks on the social media platform.

Meta's Threads previously claimed that this feature will arrive soon, offering its users the chance to browse the trending content on the platform, with the company also adding it to the 'For You' feed.

In less than a year since Threads was released, it has added new and intuitive features that build the platform alongside the top social media experiences, seeing new experiences regularly.

Threads Bring Trending Now on Search for the US

Adam Mosseri, Instagram CEO, posted on his Threads account today to share a new feature on the text-based social media platform, which brings the Trending Now topics.

The feature is now widely accessible only to users in the United States, and not all users in the region have yet to see it, but it was said to be coming.

Trending Now brings the latest talks of the Threads community worldwide, with the feature ranking the topic that had the most buzz and traction online.

This new Threads feature will allow people to follow the trending topics on the social media platform and be updated on the conversations people are having online.

Where to See the Trending Now and What to Expect?

Trending Now would be available in the Search tab below the search bar where they type. Here, it is laid out by the platform, ranking them from one to five, above the Follow suggestions part.

Meta also integrated this feature right on the For You feed, similar to the suggested Threads content people would find on Facebook and Instagram, laid out on a carousel-type display.

Meta's Threads and Latest Features

Meta and its executives are actively sharing the development on Threads since it was released, with the likes of its CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Mosseri using the text-based platform to share the latest on the app.

Last month, the Instagram head promised the arrival of the Trending Now section, which aims to show the platform's most timely and engaging topics based on its users.

Recently, Meta also upgraded the Threads experience when it added Searchable Topic Tags, which turn a specific text into an internal link that leads people to the keyword or topic.

While it has the same premise as a hashtag, it does not have the famed octothorpe symbol "#" that Twitter made popular, despite its use on Facebook and Instagram.

In this announcement, the Instagram boss shared the latest feature on Threads, but it is currently only available to use in the US. It is widely rolling out to users to try, but it was said to be slow as not all have yet seen this.

Trending Now is a great way to keep up with the world's topics and the latest buzz online. It is available in both the Search and For You feeds.
