A new plan for Spotify to dominate more of the streaming market is coming, and this is through integrating music videos into the platform, offering a multimedia approach to what it has to offer. This feature will initially be offered on a beta, with select countries getting the feature to either watch the music video or listen to the song, featuring a limited list of artists it partnered with.
This new offer by Spotify will take users on a journey that tells more about the music and its artist, with the ability to replay the experience over and over again.
Spotify: Music Videos Coming, Beta Testing Now
Spotify's latest release detailed the arrival of music videos in the previously-exclusive audio streaming platform, with the feature now in limited beta testing in 11 countries. Additionally, in this test, Spotify will feature a select catalog of music videos from global and local artists including Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Aluna, and Asake.
The platform said that it will begin rolling out this music video feature starting today for users in the U.K., Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya.
It is available for Premium users for now in this beta testing phase, for its various platforms like iOS, Android, PC, and smart TVs.
Moreover, Spotify said that users may opt for a portrait or landscape layout for their music video streaming experience on the app.

Spotify MV: Going Against Apple, YouTube Music
This music video streaming is similar to what Apple Music and YouTube Music offer on their respective platforms, but it has its differences as Spotify brings it on its music player. Users may click on the button that says "Switch to Video" to watch the MV or "Switch to Audio" to continue the traditional streaming experience.
That being said, these three platforms are already offering both audio and video, with Spotify stepping out of its traditional sound-only streaming experience.
Spotify and its Latest Offers on Streaming
Perhaps the biggest streaming platform in the world, Spotify has built its platform to be the pinnacle of music streaming experiences, one of the first of its kind with massive updates and features regularly coming. One of the previously discovered features on the platform was the arrival of its ChatGPT-esque experience where generative AI helps users make tailored playlists for them.
The platform also recently introduced the feature known as Blend, a collaborative playlist feature that allows friends or family to contribute to creating a mix that will appeal to everyone's taste. While this addresses the algorithm and music preferences of each person, it still considers the collaborative effort that accounts for each person included here.
Several reports point out that Spotify's next move is towards integrating more generative AI and artificial intelligence features on the app, with the company prioritizing this development over other features. But now, the company has come up with another feature that improves more of the experience, offering music video streaming in beta where users may easily switch from audio to video in a click.
