Warzone Mobile Won’t Trump Call of Duty: Mobile’s Content, New Experiences Coming

Activision Blizzard is all in for its mobile titles.

The upcoming release of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile may be the most anticipated title from Activision Blizzard's smartphone experiences, but that does not mean it will forget about its earlier release. That being said, Call of Duty: Mobile, would still get its dedicated new content, experiences, and updates in the future, one that would continue for its millions of players now.

While initially Call of Duty's successful mobile game, CODM's popularity dwindled in the past years, especially when Warzone Mobile was announced.

Warzone Mobile Won't Trump Call of Duty: Mobile's Content

Contrary to beliefs, there will not be a competition between Warzone Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile when the new game releases this March 21. This much was promised by CODM's official X account while it addressed the departure of the Shoot House and Alcatraz maps in the game.

The game then followed it up with a reply, saying that CODM "will continue to get new content every season and there are no plans to change the breadth of content we bring to COD:M players."

More Experiences, New Content Coming to CODM

Call of Duty: Mobile also promised new experiences coming soon, as the team already planned for the rest of the year, asking players to stay tuned and anticipate these releases. However, the team did not reveal what kind of updates or new content it will offer in the coming months of 2024.

Despite the departure of the said maps, Shoot House and Alcatraz would be made available later this year, as part of the rotations in the maps they offer in and out of each season, depending on the playlists offered in the game.

Call of Duty: Mobile vs. COD Warzone Mobile

The 2019-released game from Activision Blizzard, TiMi Studios, and Tencent Games saw massive patronage as fans globally enjoyed what it has to offer on the smaller screens and portable experience of the game. Call of Duty: Mobile was responsible for raking up a massive $10 billion revenue in 2021 over the past year, right at the time when the pandemic started.

Its success alone was astronomical, being one of the most successful mobile games in the world, and also the first to offer the Call of Duty experience for mobile platforms.

However, Activision Blizzard still has other plans for its dive into the mobile world, especially with its announcement of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, one that should have been available in 2023. It was plagued by development issues and delayed multiple times before settling for its March 2024 release, highly anticipated in the gaming industry.

While many are comparing and pitting both games together, it is still Activision Blizzard's success should either see significant numbers when Warzone's mobile version releases. That being said, there is no need to fear for those who have invested heavily in CODM, and as promised, will continue with what it has to offer in the future, side by side with Warzone Mobile.
