The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, hosted by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), has drawn to a close, marking the end of four days filled with discussions and networking opportunities.
Industry leaders and participants from various sectors of the mobile ecosystem converged at the event, solidifying its status as one of the world's largest and most influential connectivity gatherings.

MWC is widely regarded as one of the most significant events in the mobile industry, attracting many attendees, exhibitors, and speakers from around the world. It serves as a premier platform for showcasing the latest innovations, trends, and advancements in mobile technology.
This year's event saw over 101,000 attendees from 205 countries and territories, with a significant portion representing industries adjacent to the core mobile ecosystem.
More than 2,700 exhibitors, sponsors, and partners participated in the event, showcasing the latest innovations and advancements in the field.
The conference featured an impressive lineup of over 1,100 speakers and thought leaders, including a notable representation of female speakers. Attendees at the director level and above accounted for 51% of the total, with 21% holding C-Suite positions, reflecting the event's appeal to senior decision-makers.
Female attendees constituted 26% of the overall participant base, underscoring efforts to promote gender diversity within the industry. The GSMA Ministerial Programme brought together over 180 delegations from 140 countries, including heads of state, ministers, and regulatory authorities, facilitating crucial discussions on policy and regulation.
4YFN, the startup and innovation platform at MWC Barcelona, celebrated its 10th anniversary edition this year, welcoming 930 exhibitors, 450 speakers, and over 1,000 investors.
Keynotes and live sessions on the MWC Barcelona website, Mobile World Live, and media partner platforms garnered over 400,000 unique viewers, reflecting the global interest in the event's content and discussions.

Talent Arena, a new addition to MWC Barcelona, hosted a 48-hour Open Gateway Hackathon, drawing professionals from over 400 companies and showcasing the industry's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation.
"Hearing truly compelling industry insights from the conference programme, and experiencing the innovation, ingenuity and optimism from the show floor, is why we meet in Barcelona every year," Mats Granryd, Director General of GSMA, said in a press statement.
