Lenovo outdid itself in its latest showcase at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, as it introduced the world's first-ever transparent micro-LED display called the "Project Crystal." This is also known as the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept, and it centers on a blank and transparent borderless screen that uses the power of artificial intelligence for what it will show users.
This new concept laptop is already making massive waves in this new age of tech, centering on a new AI PC that revolutionizes the industry.
Lenovo 'Project Crystal' Brings World's First Transparent Laptop
Amidst Lenovo's showcase at MWC 2024, the company unveiled the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept also known as Project Crystal, offering a see-through device that can bring computer screens to the device. It is a 17.3-inch microLED transparent display, which also offers a transparent keyboard area and a "floating" footpad design.
The transparent keyboard may also transform into a drawing board with a supported pen, no longer needing additional devices to connect for this experience.
Lenovo's Project Crystal is the company's take on a futuristic perspective on AI PCs but puts a twist with its augmentation of both the virtual and physical world in one.
Transparent microLED Display Powered by AI
Lenovo credits its integration of the virtual and real world thanks to the power of its Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) which delivers the display on its transparent screen.
Through the physical, see-through screen, Lenovo's AIGC will bring the "overlaying" digital display to the device and offer regular computer activities. With the microLED, Lenovo said that it will bring high color saturation and 1,000 nits of brightness for visibility in both indoors and outdoor settings.
Unique Developments from Lenovo
The renowned global tech company, Lenovo, delivered significant concepts and devices to the world in their recent showcases, centering on unique developments from last year that bring promising experiences. One of the top-regarded devices from the company is under Motorola's AI features and adaptive display, offering new types of screens and more for users.
To be more precise, there is the Motorola smartphone concept which takes on the form of a "slap bracelet" that could cling to one's wrists and delivers a new form factor for the device.
This intuitive design centers on a widely flexible smartphone that could be bent to a familiar design, with everything about the smartphone curving unnaturally for its user.
The unique developments from Lenovo see significant ideas come to life, and despite being concepts, there are plans from the company to make it work and offer it soon for all. The latest concept of the company is the Project Crystal, a device that has a transparent microLED screen that offers an AI-powered display, a world's first on this new laptop experience.
