The renowned French multinational company, Ubisoft, is not missing a year for its new releases under its most famous franchise, revealing this year's game, Assassin's Creed Codename Red. As part of its take to broaden more of the franchise's releases under Assassin's Creed: Infinity, the company confirmed the release date and things to look forward to in its next game.
Codename Red was originally part of the teased titles from the Ubisoft Forward, with this specific game centering on a feudal Japan story.
Ubisoft Unveils Assassin's Creed Codename Red Release Date
In 2022, Ubisoft gave the world the first teaser of Assassin's Creed Codename Red, centering on all things "Shinobi" (ninja), set to take place in Japan, offering a new AAA action RPG.
Revealed via Ubisoft's latest earnings report, Codename Red already has a launch window for what it will bring in the future, with April 2024 marking the beginning of its dawn.
Earlier leaks (via ComicBook Gaming) believe that a full game reveal will take place this May, but it would take about a year before the world may experience Codename Red. To be precise, the expected release date will come by March 31, 2025 for this title.
Initially, leaks claimed that in November 2024, Ubisoft would drop the game.
What to Expect from Assassin's Creed Codename Red
Assassin's Creed Codename Red will be a new take on the renowned stealth action RPG from the company, specifically as it goes to the oriental east, set in Feudal Japan. Moreover, the title is set to bring the first development from AC Infinity, the massive project of the company that aims to bring the franchise to greater heights, hinting at its connected and multiplayer experiences.
Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed
In the 2022 return of Ubisoft's famed games showcase and update event, Ubisoft Forward, the company teased massive developments for the Assassin's Creed franchise to bring regular annual releases and more. This earlier 2021 reveal introduced the world to Assassin's Creed: Infinity, the umbrella that features all of its upcoming developments set to broaden the franchise more.
Infinity was initially thought to be a game, but it is larger than what people initially realized, focusing as a collective to bring a more immersive view to the Assassin's Creed experience.
This introduced the world to new projects including the likes of its new VR game, alongside last year's AAA-rated release, AC Mirage.
The details from Infinity were clear from when it was unveiled, and the timeline is still spot-on, with Codename Red slated for 2025, already confirmed by the company. Ubisoft is gearing up for another story under the world of Assassins and Templars, now set in the Land of the Rising Sun, best known for its ninjas, with its reveal set to take place and unfold this April.
