PlayStation could reportedly reveal the latest updates and its latest string of upcoming games this week with its State of Play, hinted by famous leaker Shpeshal Nick, the co-founder of Xbox Era and the same user who most of the PlayStation's previous State of Play.
According to reports, Nick made hints about the games that would be shown on the upcoming State of Play: Judas (Ken Levine's new game), Until Dawn Remaster, Silent Hill 2, Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and potentially a Sonic Generations Remastered.
As for the credibility of the rumor, the famous leaker has reportedly revealed almost the whole roster of shows in a series of somewhat cryptic tweets before the most recent State of Play last September 2023.
Given how similar these two titles are, Rise of the Ronin and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will reportedly be a certainty for anything PlayStation does at a January State of Play. The report also states that it is safe to assume that Death Stranding 2 and Silent Hill 2 could be showcased in the event, as many people had anticipated seeing it at The Game Awards.
State of Play's Biggest Games
Tech Radar, similar to rumors, states that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will probably be the center of PlayStation's next State of Play, alongside many multiplayer games, such as Marathon, reportedly being in development.
Gamerant adds to the rumors stating that some people have theorized that Death Stranding 2 and the Death Stranding film might both be screened during State of Play. Furthermore, some gamers, including Rand al Thor 19, the host of the Xbox Two podcast, reportedly think the January 31 State of Play event will also feature an Until Dawn remaster. The new Until Dawn movie adaption may be released at the same time as the remaster.
If a fresh State of Play is indeed scheduled for January 31, then fans probably will not have to wait very long to hear the news. Short notices confirming Sony's State of Play proves to be normal as the official announcement for Sony's September 2023 State of Play came just 24 hours before the actual event.
