Walmart to Remove Physical Video Game Copies from Stores
In a surprising move from one of the United States' top retail and e-commerce companies, Walmart, it has decided to remove a physical video game from its stores, starting this Monday, January 22.
This latest move was spotted by an insider, Andrew Marmo, who shared the company's memo that confirms the removal of one specific game, best known for being Xbox and Bethesda's AAA-rated game this year, Starfield. The document said that it would "destroy" the said game in the upcoming week and is removing it from the shelves to sell to potential customers.
However, there were no reasons shared by the company regarding its removal. It also did not mention anything about the beginning of its phase-out for physical games or if it is only an isolated case for Starfield. Still, it would be a massive blow to gamers opting for Walmart's physical copy of this Xbox-featured title.
Kaspersky Warns About iPhone Pegasus Spyware Access
There is a massive spread of the infamous spyware targetting iPhones known as Pegasus, and Kaspersky has shared ways about how to protect one's device and data from potential access from this vulnerability. The Pegasus spyware brings a looming threat that would be hard to detect for users, but there is also the threat from the strains including Reign and Predator.
According to Kaspersky, the vulnerability was traced on the iOS' Shutdown.log, stored in the sysdiagnose archive. This occurs whenever there is a reboot done, allowing Pegasus malware and the like to appear on the login upon boot.
Kaspersky recommends rebooting the device daily to disrupt the zero-click and zero-day exploits present, alongside using Apple's Lockdown mode. Moreover, it also recommends disabling FaceTime and iMessage services, as well as keeping the device updated.
