Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was announced during the pandemic, and while it faced massive delays, it was still Rocksteady Studios' priority, and it was recently revealed that it replaced another. During that time, Rocksteady was developing a different multiplayer game that was unrelated to DC, but after the spot to develop a Suicide Squad game opened up, they stepped in.
The upcoming release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is nearing, and it is the latest AAA-rated development of the company, looking to continue its success in the Batman franchise.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is Rocksteady's Priority
Bloomberg's recent report from Jason Schreier revealed that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was not the game Rocksteady Studios was developing at the time. However, it was later made as Rocksteady's priority, as the team swooped in to develop the game after its announcement almost four years ago, following their footing from the Batman games.
This game is only the sixth development from Rocksteady, and its first one in almost a decade since the last Batman release.

Rockstead Canceled a Multiplayer for Suicide Squad
It was said in the report that a different, unrelated multiplayer game was under development from Rocksteady at the time, but it remains unclear if they were forced to drop it or if they wanted the project.
ComicBook Gaming said that at one point, Rocksteady was looking to move away from the world of DC after its stint with Batman, hence the untitled multiplayer.
Now that Suicide Squad is coming, it is unknown if Rocksteady will go back to the canceled multiplayer title.
Rocksteady Studios' Work in DC Games
The DC FanDome in 2020 has brought fans a lot to learn about the future of the media company's future in the industry, offering new releases coming for all.
One of the event's highlights was the games revolving around the DC universe, with Rocksteady Studios first revealing here that it is working on Suicide Squad, and this was after their work on the Batman: Arkham trilogy.
However, as much success did Rocksteady had with the Batman games, it saw hardships in developing Suicide Squad, and this was evident because of the multiple delays and rescheduling of its release date. Nevertheless, the team had affirmed that its 2024 release would be the last of the delays, and it will finally bring the game this February for the world to enjoy.
Now that the game is near its release and looking to bring a different kind of anti-hero experience for gamers, Rocksteady Studios is gearing up for another fated experience from a DC story. To create this game, Rocksteady had to abandon an active multiplayer game development then, but whether it was forced or willfully done, we may never know.
