Apple is in the final stages of preparing for the much-anticipated launch of its Apple Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, as stock arrives at distribution centers and retail stores gear up for a potential release in February.
Scheduled for an early 2024 launch in the United States, recent reports suggest a shift from previous rumors hinting at a late January debut. According to Mark Gurman's 'Power On' newsletter for Bloomberg, the headset is currently being shipped to US warehouses in limited quantities, with enough supply to support a potential February launch, as reported by Apple Insider.
Apple Employees Undergo Specialized Training
An official announcement regarding the Apple Vision Pro is expected within the next week, strategically timed to divert attention from the upcoming CES 2024 event in Las Vegas. Aligning with earlier reports, Apple has initiated training two to four retail employees from the US Apple Stores, flying them to Cupertino for specialized training on the undisclosed product, presumed to be the Apple Vision Pro.
Following their training sessions, these employees will return to their respective stores to educate their colleagues on the intricacies of the new headset. All US stores are reportedly slated for three-hour meetings on January 21, likely for in-store training, with additional training sessions expected in the following days.
As part of the preparation for the imminent launch, stores will gradually receive new inventory racks, accompanied by the replacement of backroom equipment in the upcoming week and beyond.
According to a previous report from 9to5Mac, the Apple Vision Pro is on track to enter mass production, with shipments commencing in early January 2024. Initial availability is limited to the United States, with a broader rollout plan expected later.
