It is no longer news that there will be a Nintendo Switch 2, but the industry has now shifted its massive research and speculations regarding the games that will arrive with the handheld gaming console. In a recent rumor, it was said that three more games are making their way to Nintendo's upcoming console, with this release centering on one game franchise and series.
The fact remains that the Nintendo Switch 2 remains an unconfirmed console from the company, and its release date is based on mere speculations only.
Nintendo Switch 2: Brings 3 More Games Upon Release
A leaker called @NWeedle has started a new rumor behind three more games that will drop alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, claiming that SEGA will bring its famed Bayonetta titles with its release. This will be in the form of a Bayonetta Trilogy edition that will offer the three games upon release, as part of a single collection up for grabs, but unknown if it will be physical or digital exclusives, or for both.
It was said that the Bayonetta collection would bring visual and performance improvements in this release, more particularly with HDR.
This leak is corroborated by the many re-releases on Nintendo over the past years, offering ports for certain games including the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, and more.
When is the Nintendo Switch 2 Coming for All?
It was addressed by Nash (the leaker) that there would be "something" by the end of the fiscal year of Nintendo, but also said that the company is known for its many changes on its plans, and could not give a date regarding this release.
That being said, the same can be applied to the Bayonetta Trilogy, as it remains unconfirmed by both Nintendo and SEGA, with this information remaining as mere speculations.
Nintendo Switch 2: Here's What to Expect
It is important to note that the Switch is already seven years old this 2024, and most lifecycles of a console center on six years only before its creators release a new version. The Switch has already released a mid-cycle device with the Switch OLED in 2020, and now, many are speculating a change for Nintendo's releases in 2024, with Activision Blizzard initially leaking this information.
Still without a name, the next-gen Switch or "Switch 2" will bring significant improvements to the handheld gaming experiences, particularly as it is battling the new breed of portable devices like Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and more.
This new release will focus on two variants from Nintendo, with one offering access to both physical and digital games, a.k.a. the Standard, and the other one being a digital-only console.
Despite all the massive information about the Nintendo Switch 2, there are still no confirmations from the Japanese gaming company, on when it will release the console, or if there is one that it developed. Nevertheless, SEGA will be releasing three new games alongside the new Switch, with three Bayonetta games offered to gamers upon launch, expanding more on the latest handheld from Nintendo.
