The renowned Surface lineup from Microsoft is getting the same treatment as its massive focus on AI, but the company is looking to integrate it into the computers in its next releases. Apart from its dedicated focus on the Surface lineup to get its famed AI developments alongside OpenAI, the company will also produce significant features, centering on options between Intel and Arm-based processors.
However, it may not yet be immediately available come next year, especially now that the New Year is nearing, with reports pointing out a later launch date.
Microsoft Surface Laptops to get 'True AI' Integrations
Windows Central first reported that Microsoft is planning to deliver a new generation of Surface laptops to the world, and this centers on the Surface Pro 10 and the Surface Laptop 6.
One of its most iconic features for this next release would be "true AI" integrations, different from the current offer of the company where its machine-learning tech is available via its apps.
To be more specific, the next Surface laptops would feature its next-gen neural processing unit (NPU) which will expand more of its capabilities.
It is unknown what kind of onboard AI integrations Microsoft will add, specifically with its massive focus on the Copilot now, powered by OpenAI's GPT platform.
Next-gen Microsoft Surface: Intel, Arm Options
In the report, it was also regarded that the Surface will feature either Intel or Arm-based options to go alongside its NPU.
The Surface Pro 10 will feature a brighter display with HDR support, and screen options of 2160x1440 (2K) or 2880x1920.
On the other hand, the Surface Laptop 6 will feature a 13.8-inch display which is larger than the previous gen, with two ports for USB-C, one for USB-A, and a Surface Connect charger.
Both displays will offer rounded looks and thinner bezels.
Microsoft's Surface Laptop Development
In the different releases of Microsoft's Surface devices, the company has offered different types of features to experience, making each release unique from the one that came before it, with a massive selection of devices. One of the most iconic releases of the company was with the Surface Pro 8 which went alongside the Surface Laptop Studio in 2022.
The laptop-tablet lineup was then followed up by the company with the Surface Pro 9, offering a 13-inch tablet that features a 120Hz refresh rate for its screen, equipped with the Intel Core i7 processor.
There was also a Microsoft Surface Duo which centers on a tablet that was previously speculated to be planning a foldable version with the Surface Duo 3.
The Surface Laptop's development has seen significant features added to it, regarded with the top specs it offers the world, including improvements for its portability. In the upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, Microsoft is looking to bring its massive AI integration to the computers, offering the "true" experience that it will bring to the devices, speculated for 2025.
