Humane AI Pin Set to Shipping in March, Replacing Your Existing Smartphones

Humane considers the smartphone to be in its final phase.

The anticipated shipping date for the Humane AI Pin is set for March. The company announced that those who placed priority orders will be the first to receive their Ai Pins when shipments commence in March.

While Humane has not disclosed a precise date for the commencement of order shipments, the mention of March provides a more defined timeframe compared to the earlier projection of early 2024 that the company communicated in November.

Announcing Shipments

Founded by former Apple employees Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri, Humane considers the smartphone, their ex-employer's mainstay, to be in its final phase. The wearable device, intended to replace smartphones, was initially estimated for an "early 2024" release.

Chaudhri expressed this sentiment in a November press briefing, stating that the smartphone era has plateaued. He sees the AI-powered wearable as a revolutionary concept, presenting a fresh perspective and a realm of new opportunities.

Engadget reported that the $699 Humane AI Pin lacks a screen; instead, it depends on voice cues and a projector beaming relevant information onto the user's hand.

The founders emphasize the device's privacy focus coupled with contextual intelligence, assuring it quickly understands what you need, connecting you to the right AI experience or service instantly.

Partnerships with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Tidal offer what the company terms "access to some of the world's most powerful AI models and platforms."

The pin operates on a quad-core Snapdragon processor with a dedicated Qualcomm AI Engine powering its Cosmos OS software. It is available in three color options, with two of them adding an extra $100 to its price.

Buyers must pay $24 monthly to access the pin's cellular data, built as an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) on top of T-Mobile's network.

Processing Orders

Aside from confirming the March shipping date, The Verge reported that Humane assures that the remaining orders will be processed in the sequence they were received.

Pre-orders for the Humane AI Pin are currently open on Humane's website. The Eclipse (matte black on black) is priced at $699, while the Lunar (polished chrome on white) and Equinox (polished chrome on black) color options are available at $799.

Transforming the landscape of AI interaction, the Ai Pin introduces a spectrum of engagement modes. Users can engage in natural conversations, navigate with the intuitive touchpad, utilize gestures, or harness the power of the Laser Ink Display projected onto their palm.

Crafted to seamlessly integrate into daily routines, the Ai Pin enriches interactions with the environment. Its functionalities encompass the Ai Mic, facilitating efficient searches, contextualization, and AI-driven messaging tailored to the user's tone.

The Catch Me Up feature adeptly manages email clutter, and through strategic partnerships with TIDAL*, it introduces innovative AI-driven music experiences. Serving as an adept foreign language interpreter, the Ai Pin also supports nutritional goals by identifying food through computer vision.

Cosmo skillfully merges intelligent technologies with user-friendly interactions and advanced security measures. Empowered by the Ai Bus, an innovative AI software framework, the Ai Pin eliminates the need for app downloads and management.
