In a world where the shift to electric cars and clean energy is now a massive focus, one Japanese automaker, Mazda, is not yet in a rush to jump on the bandwagon and deliver EVs as soon as possible. Much was revealed by the Mazda CEO, and he talked about the company's plans to bring clean energy cars by the end of the decade and will not exactly fall behind in the market.
The company confirmed that its plans for electrification will "start a little slower" compared to the industry, especially among fellow Japanese car companies.
Mazda EVs Not Yet Coming Now, 'Demand is Uncertain'
Mazda CEO Masahiro Moro recently unveiled via Auto News that no EVs are coming from the company at present, and it is not in a rush to debut its electric cars in the market. The company's electrified division, e-Mazda, was only established this November, and this division is currently focusing on making EVs lighter, looking at making them more affordable for the general public.
The Japanese automaker's CEO also said "One of the big issues for us is demand is uncertain."
He further claimed that the "pace is not that high" for battery EVs, and this is the reality that the present market is facing now regarding the change to clean energy.

Still, Mazda Will Debut EVs with a Plan for 2030
However, this does not mean that no electric vehicles will arrive from Mazda, as the company has massive plans come 2030, right at the end of the decade. Its first EVs will debut in around 2025 to 2027, and will rely on Toyota's technology said the CEO.
For now, Mazda promises more plug-in hybrids in the United States, with its present release, the Mazda CX-90 PHEV, to see more joining it in the lineup.
Japanese Automakers and Electric Cars
Japan is one of the top-known countries for automobiles and machinery, and they are best known for the "JDM" cars (Japanese Domestic Market) which grew in popularity during the 20th century. Now, Japanese automakers are making their name in the electric cars space, with one of the leading companies here being Honda, best known for its partnership with General Motors to deliver EVs in the US.
There is also the renowned "car of the masses," Toyota, which is massive in terms of electric vehicles, centering on battery-powered solutions to debut a new age of clean energy for transportation solutions.
On the other hand, Nissan is also best known for their electrification efforts, with the Leaf leading the company regarding its EV sales, with other units also under development.
Rumors are circulating about Mazda's electric vehicle deliveries in the future, with the renowned MX-5 platform, popularly known as the Miata, seeing electrification in the future. While there is little to no news regarding Mazda's electrification efforts, there are various investments made by the company towards this development, an "intentional follower" in the current market, with a plan for its electric lineup by 2030.
