Yakuza and Like a Dragon Franchise
The Yakuza game franchise from Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studios and SEGA has cemented itself as one of the most iconic action RPG franchises in the world, also offering beat-em-up style gameplay for all. Since 2005, the game franchise has released multiple titles in its lineup, with the Yakuza 0 (zero) offering a glimpse into the early beginnings of the Japanese crime underworld.
Back in 2020, the franchise released its spinoff series that centered on Ichiban Kasuga, and this is best known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which is the first title in the mainline series of Yakuza to feature turn-based RPG. While it offered a different playstyle from the other titles in the series, it became one of the top-renowned modern games of the franchise, with a shift to a new protagonist.
As one of the nominees in the latest The Game Awards 2023 for the Most Anticipated Game this year, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth set itself up in the spotlight with offers of a significant callback to Kazama Kiryu's life. The latest trailer is a treasure trove of fan-favorite characters making their return to provide support to Kiryu, offering him significant help as he battles one of his toughest challenges yet.
