It is going to be a holly, jolly Christmas for fans in the European region to get the renowned text-based social media from Meta, as Threads has already begun its countdown on the app. While Meta did not specify what is the reason behind the countdown, it is highly speculated for the dedicated launch of Threads in the EU, and this was the same look it had when it first brought the platform last July.
Meta Threads Coming to EU Next Week, Countdown Teaser Now Live
Going to the Threads app for those in the EU region (or where it is not yet available), will show users a countdown with festive vibes, but there are no titles or details available on this page.
With the countdown teaser already live, many believe it to be Threads' upcoming launch in Europe, as it was previously reported that Meta is set to make the app available this December.
Moreover, it was reported by Matt Navarra that a special feature in Threads as part of this launch is also available to experience via the app. If you search for the word "ticket" on the app, there will be an emoji icon that leads to a secret digital invitation hidden away by the company, previewing a QR code that will give users more information.
This includes the launch time of the said EU Threads experience.
Meta Threads in Europe: Here's What to Expect
Much like when Threads launched across the globe, users will be given a chance to create their accounts by connecting their profiles from Instagram. This means that when Threads goes live in Europe, there will be no more account creation process to do before they get to experience the app.
However, it would be a different story for non-Instagram users.
Additionally, it is expected that all current Threads features will be available to access, offering the full experience upon launch.
Meta Threads and its Features
Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri have been active in their many posts regarding the Threads app via text-based social media, and there have been a lot of features to enjoy, as unveiled by the executives. One of the features available here is the ability to post GIFs and start polls via the app, and while this is similar to its top rival, X, the company made it its own.
Additionally, Threads went a step further compared to X, and this was because of the free availability of the Edit Button which arrived earlier this year, ending the need to have users pay for it. Unlike X, Meta did not hide its iconic features behind a premium subscription program, making Threads an easily accessible platform to enjoy, and more complete for users.
There are more features added in recent months by the company, and its executives are happily inviting people over to enjoy the social media experience on Threads. That being said, the app is not yet available to the European region, and this has been one of the significant holdouts of the company, set to change this December 14 for its anticipated grand launch.
