As per MacRumors, users can anticipate that the iPhone SE 4, would utilize the exact same battery as the iPhone 14 base model. Reports indicate that various completely constructed models of the upcoming iPhone SE have been spotted using lithium-ion batteries labeled A2863, the same model number for iPhone 14's battery.
The reports adds that internal design records support this battery rumor as well. This recent update proves to be an improvement for the iPhone SE as the A2863 battery has a capacity boost of more than 1250 mAh over the battery found in the third-generation iPhone SE, implying a longer battery life for the user.
Apple Saving Costs for Reasonable Prices
Apple has decided to keep the A2863 battery from the iPhone 14 as it has done with the majority of the iPhone SE 4. The report explains that using an existing battery would likely keep the iPhone SE 4 reasonably priced as compared to other iPhone models that Apple provides, as developing new components would result in increased research and development expenditures for Apple.
Since the second-generation iPhone SE used the same battery as the original iPhone 8, this also aligns with Apple's prior decisions about the iPhone SE.
Apple Borrowing A Lot from iPhone 14
The 4th iPhone SE proves to be adopting various iPhone 14 designs and components as a recent Macrumor report has also stated that the phone is anticipated to get a new design that is virtually inspired by the iPhone 14 base model. MacRumors sources claim that the iPhone SE 4 will employ an altered chassis from the iPhone 14 and even retain the test specifications from the iPhone 14 for internal testing.
Two significant improvements to the chassis are reportedly anticipated, the addition of a USB-C connector and an Action button. The Action button is reportedly a multifunctional button that was introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro. It takes the place of the mute switch on the latest iPhone models. It may be set up to carry out a number of tasks, according on what the user wants.
Additionally, a USB-C connector will be added to the iPhone SE 4 to ensure compliance with impending rules from the European Union. Numerous references to the E85 connector, which Apple internally refers to as USB-C, have been spotted by Macrumours' sources. With the exception of these two notable variations, the chassis of the iPhone 14 is not expected to undergo any notable modifications, and the curved edges of the iPhone 15 range are reportedly less likely to be present.
As for the device's rear, the next iPhone SE will have reportedly have a single camera with the flash positioned similarly to the third-generation iPhone SE. Recent reports indicate however, that the camera bump's precise design remains unknown.
MacRumors maintained however, that users have to keep in mind the data shown in all the reports are pre-production data. Although the A2863 battery is used in prototype iPhone SE 4 units, Apple could still decide to alter its plans given the device's delayed availability.
As for Apple's flagship models, such as the iPhone 16 Pro, Apple is said to have created completely new batteries with improved thermal characteristics.
