Admit it or not, voice acting for the gaming industry has become one of the key factors in telling if it is good, and a recent patent filed by Electronic Arts (EA) was discovered to feature a different experience for all. In this filing, the company found a rather peculiar way of improving the experience, and this is by letting gamers voice the characters in their published games.
EA Patent Seeks to Bring Your Voice to Games
Very Ali Gaming found a significant discovery that may soon improve user gaming experience, with EA's patent to bring their voice to games. What this means is that gamers may set their voices for their in-game characters to use, and this could effectively make the game more personal, and somewhat better suited for their taste.
While voice acting has been a significant experience in gaming, with renowned actors giving life to the many central figures in various titles, other players are left unsatisfied with what they have to offer.
The new EA patent filed over at the US Patent and Trademark Office is entitled "Generating speech in the voice of a player of a video game" and details exactly what it claims to bring to the gaming experience. Moreover, it was noted that this filing was submitted in October 2020.
Will We Get to See This Feature Soon?
The report claims that EA has a voice converter that uses an acoustic feature encoder to integrate a player's voice into a character that is speaking. It will use a generator to match emotions, emphasis, tones, and more to a character.
However, as of this writing, there are no announcements yet if EA will bring this to its many games released now if it will be available in the future, or if something is only patented but will not be available soon.
Electronic Arts and its Games
For many years, Electronic Arts has been one of the pillars of gaming, with the company known for publishing and creating renowned video games that are highly regarded by gamers. From single-player titles down to multiplayer ones, EA has a lot to offer the world, including their latest AAA-rated release, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a well-received title like its predecessor.
EA may have already parted ways with FIFA to bring the famed league, its names, and its players to the gaming sphere, but that did not stop them from offering a new experience via EA Sports FC 24.
Not to mention the renowned title which won The Game Awards 2021's Game of the Year, It Takes Two, which offers a co-op multiplayer to solve complex puzzles.
Many excellent titles await gamers, and now that we know of EA's latest patent, it is a feature that gamers would probably like to see soon in the publisher's releases, with their voices or someone they know to help contribute more to an improvement in the experience.
