Lotus' recent press release introduces the world to its new EV charging solutions that center on offering the ultra-fast 450kW DC charger which promises up to 88.5 miles of range in about five minutes. This is for its max power output of 450kW and is applicable for vehicles capable of receiving this amount.

With this specific charger, Lotus claims that a 10 percent charge can reach up to 80 percent in only 20 minutes. Moreover, it also offers a range extension of 74 miles or 120 kilometers for 5 minutes of charge if using the 350kW Rapid Charger.

According to Lotus, its new ultra-fast EV chargers were already deployed in China, with the company looking to expand its reach come Q2 2024, to roll out across multiple European countries and the Middle East.

Liquid-Cooled, Supports Multiple Cars

Lotus is using liquid-cooled technologies throughout its suite of commercial charging solutions to make it easier and quicker for EV drivers to charge their vehicles.

On the other hand, the British sports and luxury brand also unveiled its Liquid-Cooled Power Cabinet, a modular power cabinet that offers high energy to push its capabilities further, up to 480kW.

Additionally, there is also the Liquid-Coolled Charging Unit which is a terminal that pairs with the Liquid-Cooled Power Cabinet, capable of charging up to four cars at once. It has a max current output of 600 Amps.

Fast Chargers for Electric Vehicles

One of the most renowned fast chargers in the world for electric vehicles now is the Tesla Supercharger, and this is because of the numerous stations offering this experience, not only for the company's cars. Over the past months, the world has seen the massive adoption of the Tesla North American Charging Standard, a.k.a. the NACS, which offers a gateway to using Supercharger stations.

Part of the companies' agreement with Tesla in adopting the NACS is their access to the Superchargers, with many looking forward to using the fast chargers that could effectively shorten wait time on stops.

Lotus' first entry into the EV market will soon make its way to the world, and this is the company's growing commitment to sustainability and clean energy.

The Geely-owned British car brand is set to debut the Lotus Eletre R to the world, and what better to pair it with than its new EV charger, looking to offer humongous speeds in filling the battery. Lotus' Ultra-Fast 450kW charger is paired with its full range of liquid-cooled solutions for EV charging, including a DC charger, a power cabinet, and a charging unit that expands more of the experience.
