The tech industry is grappling with layoffs left and right, but it does not stop Google from being a hot destination for job searchers who formerly worked at Apple, LinkedIn analysis says. Gabriel Varaljay from Unsplash

Conducted by Switch on Business, the study dived into LinkedIn profiles associated with major tech companies.

A comprehensive search encompassed Google (Alphabet), Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, IBM, Tesla, Oracle, Netflix, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, and Uber. The focus was on identifying current employees in these companies and their prior professional affiliations.

Preferred Sources for Apple Employees

For individuals entering Apple's workforce, the analysis pinpointed Intel, Microsoft, and Amazon as the primary sources. Additionally, the acquisition of Intel's smartphone modem business in 2019 played a pivotal role in Apple's recruitment landscape.

Top Choices for Departing Apple Employees

When Apple employees venture beyond, Google emerges as the favored destination, overshadowing alternatives like Amazon and Meta. The rankings of preferred destinations after leaving Apple include Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Tesla, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, and Oracle, according to 9to5Mac.

Apple's Recruitment Landscape

A notable finding in the analysis is that Apple recruits a relatively small percentage of its workforce from other tech giants, standing at 5.7%. This stands in contrast to other major players like Meta (26.5%), Google (25.1%), and Salesforce (20.7%).

Since the tech industry continues to evolve faster than everyone can imagine, LinkedIn also adapts to the huge changes especially with the emergence of AI.

Earlier this month, the job-hunting site unveiled the AI features that will help users to improve engagement and content creation. Unfortunately, they are exclusive for Premium users.

Still, it's a breakthrough for LinkedIn to roll out the AI tools that will bridge a person towards other professionals.

A $40 monthly charge for premium access is not that bad especially if you are maximizing your job-searching on the internet.

There's nothing wrong with the free membership but if you want to leverage your networking with other people, then opting for the paid version is the way to go. It makes your profile more attractive to companies.
