NASA has introduced a new on-demand streaming service called NASA Plus along with an upgraded app, providing a wealth of original content for the public.
These digital platforms serve as a hub for various offerings, including original video series, live launch coverage, children's content, Spanish-language programming, and the latest news about NASA's missions.
Cost-free and Ad-free
The streaming service is available for download through the NASA App on iOS and Android devices, as well as on streaming media players like Roku and Apple TV. It can also be accessed online at https://plus.nasa.gov.
Marc Etkind, Associate Administrator at NASA Headquarters, highlighted how the new streaming platform and app offer a gateway for the world to join NASA in exploring the unknown.
He underscored NASA's pivotal role in narrating some of humanity's most remarkable stories, now made available around the clock through these digital channels.
NASA Plus grants users access to the agency's Emmy Award-winning live coverage and insights into NASA's missions. This includes an array of original video series, including brand-new productions premiering on the streaming service.
Available Content at NASA Plus
Among the content available on NASA Plus are:
1. A documentary series chronicling each image captured by the James Webb Space Telescope, along with a companion series spotlighting the journey of the world's most potent space telescope from laboratory to launch.
2. Animated children's shows delving into the planets, enigmas of the universe, and intergalactic realms.
3. A series recounting the personal narratives of Black NASA astronauts.
4. A behind-the-scenes series showcasing scientists' endeavors to retrieve America's inaugural asteroid sample.
5. Ultra-high-definition visual explorations of the cosmos, accompanied by a space-inspired soundtrack.
6. Spanish-language content featuring a series spotlighting Hispanic and Latino NASA employees, climate-related content tailored for kids, and more.

Live Coverage
Additionally, NASA Plus will offer live coverage of events, allowing viewers worldwide to witness the agency's missions, from launching scientific experiments to sending astronauts into space, culminating in the historic missions that will see the first woman and person of color land on the Moon.
Users of the NASA app can now enjoy full access to on-demand streaming with NASA Plus as well. The app has also been enhanced with features like cloud push notifications, allowing users to receive alerts about sightings of the International Space Station.
It also enables users to rate photos, explore, and share the highest-rated images. The inclusion of augmented reality will give users the chance to interact with 3D models of NASA rockets, spacecraft, and rovers.
The NASA app is free and provides a vast repository of the agency's latest content, including over 21,000 images, podcasts, news articles, feature stories, and live event coverage.
