Tech Times' Weekly Wrap is bringing you last week's top news on technology, with Apple headlining as the M3 family was revealed during the October 30 "Scary Fast" hardware event.
There is also the massive story of finding the final location of Noah's Ark by a group of researchers. Google also makes it to the top news with its latest generative AI tools developed to create product images now available for US advertisers.
Apple Brings the M3 Family via Scary Fast Event
Speculators, Apple fans, and tech enthusiasts were met with a significant announcement by the Cupertino-based tech giant during last week's Scary Fast event, which centered on the M3 series of processors arriving for the world to see.
During the launch, Apple announced the M3, M3 Pro, and the M3 Max for its MacBook Pro, particularly on its 14-inch and 16-inch variants, to update the lineup.
However, Apple's biggest announcement here so far was the availability of its 24-inch iMac, sporting the base M3 chipset, and it came two years after its last refresh with the M1 in 2021.
The M3 series was regarded as Apple's most powerful chipset to arrive, with TSMC manufacturing the Apple-designed chip and the refreshed Macs available this week to own.
Noah's Ark Site Discovered? Research Reveals Details
Researchers from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Andrew University, and Agrı Ibrahim CeCen University (AICU) have banded together to study a geological formation in Mount Ararat at Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district in Turkey, which is believed to be the lost site of the iconic biblical craft, Noah's Ark.
The mountain is Turkey's highest peak, standing at some 16,500 feet with an ark-like shape carving. The researchers suggest that this enigmatic boat-shaped mound could house the remnants of Noah's Ark, the fabled vessel renowned for safeguarding Noah, his kin, and many animal pairs from a massive flood that hit the Earth.
The researchers said they discovered evidence indicating human activities near the boat-like formation in the mountain from between 5500 and 3000 BC.
AICU Vice Rector Professor Faruk Kaya disclosed that their examination of the rocks and soil samples extracted from the Mount Ararat site has unveiled telltale signs of human engagement in the area, and it corresponds to the era following the Noah's Ark flood story.
The Durupinar formation, characterized by its ship-like resemblance to Noah's Ark, has long been debated as a possible resting place of the Ark. Thus, it has captivated the interest of those pursuing Noah's Ark's historical location.
However, the scientific community, including archaeologists, has consistently maintained that the formation's origins are natural rather than the outcome of a fossilized shipwreck, adding that the geological evidence supporting the occurrence of a global flood similar to the one delineated in religious texts remains absent.
