Extended Return Policy to Be Effective For 2023 Holiday Shopping Season, Apple Confirms

Two months left in 2023, and Apple's extended return policy has caught shoppers off-guard.

Holiday shopping is synonymous with gift-giving, and Apple is ensuring that your gift-giving experience this season is as stress-free as possible.

As the holiday shopping frenzy gears up for 2023, the Cupertino giant is once again rolling out its extended return policy, allowing you to shop with confidence.

Under this revised policy, any products purchased between November 3, 2023, and December 25, 2023, can be returned until January 8, 2024. According to Yahoo SG, this extended grace period offers peace of mind to ensure that the gifts you give and receive during the holiday season are perfect.

What's Covered in the Return Policy?

Apple's holiday return policy encompasses a wide array of products from Apple's impressive lineup. However, it's important to note that there are a few exceptions to this extended return window. Carrier-locked phones are without a carrier return policy, and some select items fall outside the policy's purview.

Not Everything is Returnable

While the holiday season is all about spreading joy, certain products do not fall under the extended return policy. According to MacRumors, this category includes digital software downloads, products linked to the Software Update Program (such as software upgrades), and all types of Apple Gift Cards. This covers the older generation Apple Store Gift Cards as well as App Store and iTunes Gift Cards.

Additionally, Apple explicitly mentions that some products, like Apple Developer membership or WWDC tickets, which may not be your typical store purchases, remain excluded from the extended return policy.

Global Coverage of Apple's Extended Return Policy

Apple's extended holiday return policy is not limited to a specific region. Shoppers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, and numerous other countries can enjoy the benefits of this extended return window.

For these regions, the policy applies to most products purchased between November 3 and December 25, extending the return deadline until January 8, 2024.

In certain countries, the iPhone maker goes the extra mile. Buyers in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Mexico, and Japan have the opportunity to extend their return period even further. Here, most products purchased between November 3, 2023, and January 6, 2024, can be returned up until January 20, 2024. Please note that purchases made after December 25 will be subject to Apple's standard return policy.

How About Exchanging an Item?

If you're planning to exchange your item for another item, you need to ensure it is subject to in-store product availability. You need to check apple.com to see if your desired product is available for pickup in the nearest store from your location.

It should be noted that custom-configured products cannot be exchanged in-store.
