The criminal trial of Sam Bankman-Fried still got the disgraced former top executive of FTX on the stand, and this time, he was subjected to cross-examination by the prosecutors of the case.
While giving out his testimony, Bankman-Fried's answer centered on "can't recall" the many events and situations asked of him during his stint as the FTX CEO and how he ran his company.
Before, there was eagerness for the ex-CEO to go to the stand despite the disagreement of his counsel, but he took that opportunity last week to share what he has to say.
Sam Bankman-Fried 'Can't Recall' What He Did at FTX
US prosecutor Danielle Sassoon began her cross-examination of Sam Bankman-Fried during the start of this week's court proceedings, and according to the New York Times, he was grilled on the stand because of the many inconsistencies of his public statements. When asked about what he addressed the public, the former CEO said "I can't recall" or "I'm not sure" about the prosecution.
Over 100 times during the questioning, Bankman-Fried answered with differing versions of "I can't recall" to state his faint recollection of what was asked of him.
Still, Sassoon and the prosecution presented the jury with emails, tweets, and podcast clips that came from Bankman-Fried, about the things he cannot remember.

However, it was found amidst this massive line of questioning from the prosecution that Bankman-Fried and Alameda had a "near-unlimited line of credit" to FTX customer funds saying "I don't deny it." When asked again hours later, SBF seemed to have rescinded his statement, again answering that he is "not sure" regarding Alameda's borrowing limits.
Sam Bankman-Fried Criminal Trial
Sam Bankman-Fried went through several weeks of hearing his former colleagues and most trusted lieutenants reveal to the world what happened over at FTX from their perspective, telling everyone what they did under SBF's discretion. One of the most significant testimonies here is from Caroline Ellison, best known as the former CEO of Alameda Research, where she revealed the crimes she did as Bankman-Fried commanded.
There is also Gary Wang, the co-founder of FTX and the best friend of the disgraced CEO, claiming how Alameda Research took money from FTX customers without their permission, and this involved massive sums. He was joined by Adam Yedidia, a former FTX worker and a close friend to the executive, revealing the $8 billion credit that Alameda has from FTX.
Last week, Bankman-Fried took the stand twice, and first, it was without the jurors present, and the next one, it was with them in the courtroom, hearing what he had to say. Now, it was time for the cross-examination of the prosecution, with Attorney Sassoon asking the CEO different questions, to which he answered he cannot recall or remember now.
