Cross-Platform Progression Finally Arrives with Apex Legends' Latest Update on October 31

Apex Legends unveils cross-platform progression, letting players transfer progress across platforms.

After years of anticipation, Respawn Entertainment is finally delivering on one of the most requested features for Apex Legends: cross-platform progression.

As the new season, Ignite, goes live on Oct 31, players will be greeted with an in-game message explaining this exciting addition. Here's what you need to know about this game-changing update.

Unified Progression Across Platforms

Players can seamlessly carry their hard-earned progress, cosmetics, achievements, and badges across different gaming platforms with cross-platform progression.

The system designates the profile with the highest account level as the primary account, ensuring that players maintain their progress no matter where they play.

All cosmetic items and in-game currency from linked profiles under the same EA ID will be merged into the master account, making it a breeze to keep your favorite looks and gear intact.

This update is a welcome relief for those who enjoy playing Apex Legends on multiple platforms. You will now have the freedom to access your cosmetics and currencies regardless of which platform you choose to dive into the Apex Games from.

Moreover, your battle pass progress will be consistent across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. For players who stick to a single platform and profile, there won't be any noticeable change.

A Long-Awaited Feature

Engadget reports that cross-platform progression has been a much-desired feature since at least 2020 when Respawn introduced cross-platform play.

However, its development was impeded by security concerns and hacks that impacted both Apex Legends and Titanfall. Now, it's clear that the wait is finally over.

To sweeten the deal, this update brings not only cross-platform progression but also a new legend and exciting map changes.

Meet Conduit, Apex Legends' Newest Legend

IGN tells us that Conduit, the 25th Legend to join the Apex Games, adds a unique twist to the battlefield. As the first Filipino Legend, she is a dedicated fan of the Apex Games who's chosen to participate. Her focus is on shields and support.

Conduit's abilities include:

Passive: Save Your Speed - Providing a burst of speed when facing teammates who are out of the range of her Tactical ability.

Tactical: Radiant Transfer - Offering temporary shield regeneration for herself and her teammates, with shields regenerating up to three bars. Damage to those with the effect can pause the regen.

Ultimate: Energy Barricade - Deploying seven shield gen devices that slow and damage enemies in their pulse range.

Ranked Play Gets a Boost

Ranked play enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as Respawn lifts the restrictions on party size for Bronze and Silver players.

This means you can now play competitively with friends at higher ranks or vice versa. The studio has introduced promotional (promo) trials to counter potential account boosting.

These trials require players on the cusp of ranking up to prove their skills by completing specific challenges. Failing the skill check may result in being pushed down the Ranked ladder.
