BEACN Debuts New Low-Profile Mic Stand at TwitchCon Las Vegas

Well-known in the world of content creation for its various sound-based PC solutions, like the Mix Create and Mic, BEACN is taking its know-how to the next level with a low-profile mic stand. The new product is slated to be debuted at TwitchCon 2023, which is being held in Las Vegas. Those in attendance can check out the new stand for themselves at BEACN's booth, SW-23 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

BEACN's newest mic stand is a low-profile offering. It's nothing new in desk accessories, as Elgato itself has one, as well as several other companies on the market. But BEACN's low-profile mic arm stands out, as the company itself claims, via its build quality. BEACN relays in its press release that it's the only option in the space that doesn't mix dark and light parts, making the colorway of your choosing the sole tone that emanates from your desk.

BEACN CEO Craig Fraser, whose experience extends well in the audio world with over four years at TC-Helicon prior to starting BEACN, explains the design ethos and color concept best: "Our light-colored stand is the first low-profile mic stand on the market that does not have a mix of dark and light parts, helping match the aesthetic of a light/white desk setup."

Thus, the product will come in two different colors, light and dark. These are also meant to complement BEACN's assorted products, most prominently among them being its BEACN Mic, which has proven to be a major hit for content creators and the like. The new product introduction will also make BEACN customers situate the mic more easily, as before they had to rely on alternative mic stand brands.

BEACN's engineers ensured that the new mic stand would answer many of the major pain points afflicting content creators with current setups. What makes a low-profile mic arm great is that it can be positioned in a way that's out of the way, rather than closer to one's face or taking up too much of a desk's real estate. The new product comes equipped with a 360-degree swivel, custom ball mount, cable management channels, and a detachable riser, all of which will make recordings, zoom meetings, and general streaming much more user-friendly.

As someone who uses a low-profile mic stand, I can't recommend them enough, especially if you have a limited amount of desk space. They can be perfectly positioned out of the way and also don't make a ton of noise, which can be the case for more standard boom arms. BEACN is offering its newest low-profile mic stand for $119 and will go on sale at the end of October 2023.

While at TwitchCon, BEACN also aims to showcase additional compatibility functions for its software on macOS. There's no definitive explanation on if this will include the BEACN Mic and the BEACN Mix/Mix Create, though the company does say it will be performing public betas, so TwitchCon entrants can see what awesome new concepts BEACN is bringing to a wider range of platforms.
