The long-awaited platform will be owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which also intends to launch a subscription video on-demand service that will feature "non-woke" entertainment programming, the group said in a statement. Joining Truth Social

President Joe Biden's campaign for reelection took a significant step by establishing its presence on Truth Social, the social media platform launched by former President Donald Trump. The campaign introduced its account, @BidenHQ, with a welcoming message, "Well, let's see how this goes. Converts welcome!"

The Verge reported that the campaign intended to utilize the platform to connect with conservative voters and counter any instances of misinformation and disinformation about the president.

They emphasized the diverse opinions within the Republican Party, highlighting the absence of a unanimous choice for Speaker of the House. The campaign aims to integrate its messaging into GOP primary discussions while addressing any instances of "mis and disinformation" related to President Biden that may emerge on the platform.

Campaign officials have articulated their intention to hold MAGA accountable on their platform. They underscore the presence of their account on "X," where they actively share content featuring Republican politicians and candidates critiquing their adversaries.

This move is likened to the Biden campaign entering a forum where opposing views are prominent to highlight Republican inconsistencies and, perhaps, inject some humor into the discourse. Truth Social, in response, emphasizes its identity as a "free, open platform" welcoming users from across the globe to participate.

So far, Fox News reported that the campaign has shared video clips featuring GOP primary contenders like Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley criticizing Trump on topics including the federal debt and his statements regarding the conflict in Israel.

Trump's decision to launch Truth Social stemmed from his removal from Facebook and Twitter following January 6th. Despite the reinstatement of his accounts on Meta and Twitter, he continued to use Truth Social as a primary platform for more than a year.

Launching Truth Social

The decision to launch his social media network came after Trump's removal from Facebook and Twitter in the aftermath of the January 6th Capitol attack. Trump continued to use Truth Social as his primary platform for over a year, even when Meta and X, formerly known as Twitter, reinstated his accounts the previous winter.

However, this changed in August when he was arrested in an Atlanta jail on charges related to contesting the outcome of the 2020 election in Georgia. He marked this significant moment by sharing his mug shot on X.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, asserted that the Biden team is finally acknowledging the growing prominence of Truth Social as a hub for authentic news. He further emphasized that Biden's efforts to spread misinformation as a distraction from his controversial record would likely face a substantial backlash from users.
