The 2022 released app from Amazon called the "Amp" is reportedly shutting down soon, and this will leave despite only operating for more than a year offering its services. It is a live audio-streaming platform that allows users to take advantage of its music library, offering a way to create sets and stream them all over the internet, made available to Android and iOS.
Amp's experience is a standalone platform, unlike those that other apps offered like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and more.
Amazon Amp is Shutting Down After a Year, Says Reports
A report from Bloomberg brings somber news for Amazon Amp users, particularly as it claimed that this platform would soon shut down, with the e-commerce company no longer continuing the experience. This mobile-focused app was made available to iOS and Android last March 2022, initially gaining traction as it was amidst the pandemic's restrictions.
The app did not take off as much as Amazon expected it to, and it did not become the hype or buzz among users.
According to Engadget, Amazon's Amp was designed to be a "custom DJ" where users could control and curate the content that will be streamed by the platform.

Live Audio Streaming Platforms in the Industry
It was regarded that the radio was dying, and the same goes for experiences that replicate the experience where users would tune in to readily available broadcasts of music. Many platforms already have this available, and they center on algorithms and AI to help them create the fitting playlist for a specific account, with live streaming stations also focusing on related music to one's data.
Music Streaming Platforms
Amazon may bring the Amp as a special live streaming platform for music, but other companies already feature this experience, allowing many to have a continuous flow based on matching interests. There is the Spotify Daylist, a new service from the platform that matches the songs being played to one's mood, depending on the time of day.
Top streaming platforms in the world offer "Radio Stations," a curated music playlist that plays nonstop music for its users, based on their preferences and most played from their accounts. Apple Music also does this, but also offers a special "Apple Music Live" experience that invites artists to play their songs directly to the platform, to later be included in their libraries.
Audio live streams have always been part of the music streaming platforms, but Amazon went ahead to bring a dedicated app for this and not part of the Amazon Music experience. Considering that it is a niche, it did not gain the traction it expected and wanted, and after more than a year since its release, the Amazon Amp is now bidding farewell to the world.
