A new trailer for Sonic Frontiers' The Final Horizon update has been released as SEGA prepares for its official launch. The free update is due to be out today, September 28, at 5 p.m. PT or 8 p.m. ET.
Sonic Universe Gets Bigger With the New Sonic Frontiers' The Final Horizon Update
According to Gematsu, the update is a big deal because it adds a new story and playable characters to the game. That means players will get access to some of the most popular characters within the Sonic universe.
The game will reportedly get Amy, Tails, and even Knuckles as playable characters. The update also comes with new challenges and more, ensuring players get access to more things in the game, as seen on its official trailer uploaded to YouTube.
Sonic Remains a Lovable Character, But Fans Can Also Try Others Like Knuckles, Amy, and Tails
Although Sonic remains a lovable character, some fans of the series have started to gravitate towards liking other characters. These include popular characters like red-colored Knuckles, who is tough and who some fans like more than Sonic.
Despite the players' preferences, the new update will give them more options depending on their preferred character. The choices come on top of Sonic. But players can also try the other characters if they want the whole experience.
The New Update Follows the Narrative of the Events Before the Ouranos Island Battle
Players would not be limited to just one character, but they can try out each option one after another. SEGA provided an overview of what players can expect from the title.
According to the company, the additional narrative, which comes via Sonic Frontiers' The Final Horizon update, would take place before the final battle on Ouranos Island, "where Sage reconsiders an unlikely scenario amongst her millions of calculations."
Sonic's Mission Is Different From Knuckles, Amy, and Tails
According to SEGA, Sage is being assisted by Dr. Eggman and Sonic himself would be setting the new plan into motion. This comes as the Hedgehog accepts "the challenge of converting the Cyber Corruption into a vast, previously untapped power source."
While Sonic is dealing with the Cyber Corruption, Knuckles, Amy, and Tails are all doing their own parts when it comes to looking for the Chaos Emeralds. This mission is important for the characters to change their fate.
