A new feature for Spotify is reportedly coming soon, bringing a long-requested feature to stream Lossless Audio via the platform, perceived as the top quality for music formats in the industry. However, it would come with a caveat for those looking forward to this experience, as it would be in different pricing, regarded as the "HiFi" tier which is significantly more expensive.
Lossless audio means that all of the song's properties as it was recorded are present in the format, hence the "lossless" name, coming soon to the music streaming platform.
Spotify Lossless Audio is Allegedly Coming Soon
A Redditor called u/Hypixely has shared news regarding the upcoming Lossless Audio feature from Spotify, citing that with the digging they did on the Spotify app, there is already a provision for the experience. As regarded before, this tier would be called the "Supremium," discussing what it brings to the Spotify subreddit, also revealing its codename, "Nemo."
Under the Supremium tier, users would be able to access 24-bit Lossless music, also known as HiFi, but according to the Redditor, it is not referred to as that anymore. One of the massive claims by Spotify is that its platform could stream the music with "no lag and delays."
Alongside the Lossless audio, users can also access the AI that creates playlists, 30 hours of audiobook per month, filtering the library by mood, advanced mixing tools, and Soundcheck that gives users an idea of their listening habits.

Spotify's HiFi Tier: How Much Would It Be?
Android Central claimed that this Supremium or HiFi Tier would cost users $19.99 per month, and it is only $5 more expensive than the regular Premium tier's price of $14.99. The report did not reveal any availability date for the Supremium tier, a feature which the company has teased last 2021 but did not deliver.
Spotify and Lossless Audio
Back in 2017, Spotify was first rumored with the possibility of a new tier called the "HiFi Tier," and it offers a format that audiophiles and hardcore listeners have been requesting for a long time. This is the first instance where Lossless Audio was teased by Spotify to arrive on its platform but was then a teaser from the platform that never formally arrived yet.
Apple Music overtook Spotify with this Lossless Audio feature, but Cupertino took it up a notch when it added Spatial Audio to its offers, complementing its AirPods which can play both features wirelessly.
Another renowned company for Lossless Audio is Tidal, a platform that mainly centered its offers on HiFi quality music and is famous among audiophiles.
Music streaming was first frowned upon as it brought music from their servers or clouds, something which audiophiles initially claimed could not bring a true Lossless experience. However, many platforms have proven them otherwise, with Spotify looking to catch up now and finally deliver the missing piece in its experiences, the HiFi tier that is capable of delivering a lossless music experience.
