Microsoft Announced the Surface Hub 3 and Surface 4 Devices: Here's What to Expect

Microsoft Announced Two Products Under the Surface Brand During the Recent AI Event

According to the story by ZDNet, neither of the two products reportedly made the live keynote. However, they still come with what was described as "a bit of innovation" designed for use in the workplace.

The first device mentioned was the Surface Hub 3, which is said to be the latest version of workplace collaboration devices by Microsoft. It's designed to be an interactive whiteboard for users as a virtual meeting platform.

Two Options for the Hub 3 Involve a 50-inch Size Variant and an 85-inch Size Variant

It was noted that there would be two options for the Hub 3, and as revealed, there's a huge size difference. The first variant would be a 50-inch device, while the second variant is an 85-inch device that reportedly runs Microsoft Teams and can even replace traditional monitors or televisions.

When it comes to its abilities, the Surface Hub 3 was described as having better GPU and CPU performance. It also includes different types of stands as well as the option to mount them on the wall. Users can also link it to two different Surface Hub Pens while allowing for two microphone arrays.

The device also comes with speaker pairing for the intelligent audio feature while also coming out with a 4K PixelSense display and a coating that prevents glare. Another major innovation when it comes to the 50-inch variant includes its smart rotation and portrait mode.

These features allow it to be used as a whiteboard or for video calls, depending on the gadget's orientation. Other additions include the Cloud IntelliFrame, which lets users attend remote meetings to see in-person users better through the smart video feed, separating people within view into boxes similar to those on Zoom.

The Surface 4 Comes with Significant Internal Improvements to Previous Models

Microsoft also announced the Surface 4, which is designed for business users. It's said to be the smallest detachable two-in-one device that doubles as a laptop and a tablet at the same time. Although it looks very similar to previous Surface devices, its internal upgrades are still significant.

The four reportedly packs the quad-core Intel N200 processor and runs on 8 GB RAM with storage that can be expanded to 256 GB. The company also announced other hardware improvements to the device, including better battery life, microphones, and security.

The Surface 4 is also said to be easier to repair, making it ideal for users who want to utilize the computer for an extended period of time.
