What Happened to T-Mobile? Is It Fixed?
T-Mobile said its planned technology update for the app has led to a leak that allowed this access, with billing and other sensitive information unveiled to its users. The company said that it was "quickly resolved" after the mishap.
Many users have shared this online, with others citing their strong opinions against T-Mobile, saying that this incident is "unacceptable" from the company.
T-Mobile Security Incidents
As much as T-Mobile's 5G is famous in the country for the speeds and connections it offers, the company is notorious for one thing, and this is because of the many security incidents it faces. At the start of the year, it faced various security breaches, with the company claiming that a "bad actor" had managed to access its database of its users.
It was followed by another issue that sank the company's reputation regarding security further, as a data breach last May leaked massive customer data, with as many as 800 customers affected. It was said that threat actors obtained user account PINs, including their full names, contact information, associated phone numbers, social security numbers, government IDs, and more.
The numerous data breaches within T-Mobile's infrastructure and app have been a significant factor that countered its services despite being regarded as the fastest 5G in the country. Now, another security glitch occurred, but this time, it is entirely T-Mobile's fault as the faulty update it was trying to deliver gave access to sensitive information to the dismay of its users.
