A new leak from Microsoft is about its Xbox and gaming plans, including a confirmation that a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X versions of the "Red Dead Redemption 2" were at one point in the works.
This game is a highly expected title by fans to arrive on the current-gen gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but Rockstar Games has yet to confirm this for all.
The recent fiasco over Microsoft and Activision Blizzard's court battle has accidentally leaked many of Microsoft's plans regarding Xbox's future in the gaming industry, much to the delight of many.
'Red Dead Redemption 2' Game for PS5, Xbox Series S/X
Recently, leaked information from Microsoft has confirmed the previous rumor that Rockstar Games is developing a PS5 and Xbox Series S and X version of the "Red Dead Redemption 2," reigniting the fandom for the famed old Western game.
In this discovery from Xbox Head Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, and Sarah Bond, there were plans from Take-Two Interactive to release this game in the Q2 2023 fiscal year.
It was also revealed that RDR 2's PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version was discussed because the team was planning to add this third-party game and other titles to the Xbox Game Pass.
However, Take-Two's Q2 2023 fiscal year has already passed, and no such versions were released for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox consoles.
Microsoft's Massive Leaks for Xbox's Future Games
The massive bomb from Microsoft has leaked many of its plans for Xbox, and according to ComicBook Gaming, this centered on possible games and hardware coming from the company.
However, Spencer recently clarified that these emails were old and may not entirely represent what the company has to offer moving forward.
'Red Dead Redemption and Rockstar Games
The last release from Rockstar Games regarding "Red Dead Redemption 2" was meant for computers, with the developers providing the world with a PC version released in 2019.
While the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X were only rumors and speculation during this time, many expect the game to carry over to future consoles or at least a sequel.
It was previously confirmed by Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, that "Red Dead Redemption 3," or the sequel to RDR2, is coming soon. However, it is expected that the gaming company will not drop any scheduled release date for this new game, and only time will tell when the company will offer it to gamers on a silver platter.
With that being said, gamers are left to enjoy what the current Red Dead Redemption franchise has to offer, with the recent release being a Nintendo Switch version of the original game and the existing version for the PS4 and Xbox One.
The leak behind a PS5 and Xbox Series S and X version is what gamers are really waiting for, but no more follow-ups from Rockstar were made regarding this version of RDR2.
