NASA: Summer 2023 is the Hottest Ever, Record Heat is Due to Climate Change

If the heat was unbearable, it is because it was the hottest summer ever.

This year has been a hot one, and it is not because of the many technologies that arrived and amazed the world, but because of Summer 2023 being the record holder for the hottest summer season now says NASA. In the latest observation of this year's heat wave, the space agency found that the planet felt the rising global temperature, also caused by various reasons.

One of the significant reasons behind this record heat was human behavior connected to Climate Change, one of the most notorious phenomena now that alters the world.

NASA announced that Summer 2023 is the "Hottest on Record," with this year seeing the hottest season the world has ever felt, with June, July, and August seeing a combined 0.41 Fahrenheit warmer (0.23° Celsius) than any other summer since 1880.

The scientists from NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) claimed that in its recent survey, this summer is 2.1 degrees F warmer compared to the average summer climates between 1951 and 1980.

Earth's new record heat was felt globally, says NASA, and it included heat waves in South America, Japan, Europe, and the United States. Because of this, Canada and Hawaii faced deadly wildfires and Italy, Greece, and Central Europe saw severe rainfall.

Climate Change is the Reason, Humans are the Culprit

According to NASA, human-induced Climate Change and El Niño, a natural climate phenomenon, caused this new record for the world's Summer season.

"Summer 2023's record-setting temperatures aren't just a set of numbers - they result in dire real-world consequences," said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. "The impacts of climate change are a threat to our planet and future generation."

Climate Change and Global Warming

Probably two of the most important topics in the world now are Climate Change and Global Warming, with many urging the public to wake up to this reality as it is happening now. The worsening climate crisis is not yet over, and it is expected to continue with the way humans are operating now, with the Himalayan glaciers facing a rapid meltdown due to these phenomena.

Earlier this year, during the start of the summer season, it was revealed by NASA and NOAA that July 2023 was the hottest month ever recorded on the planet for the past 174 years.

The world is already suffering from the actions of humans, with the further destruction still not seeing a significant way to stop it and only further efforts mitigate a small part of it.

Climate Change and Global Warming are highly affecting the world, and while there are many efforts and advocacies looking to improve what we are experiencing now, the changes still take effect. Summer 2023 is the hottest there ever was, and it broke the record of a decades-earlier observation of the hottest summer, with real-world consequences soon to wreak havoc.
