Apple Insider Claims iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard Revamp to Make it Look Like a Laptop—How?

Is it a new MacBook with cameras? No, it's the 2024 iPad Pro.

New information regarding the 2024 iPad Pro is now making waves online, particularly as it claims that it will bring a new look for the device that will make it seem like a laptop at first glance thanks to its Magic Keyboard revamp. No, it is not a new MacBook with cameras, as it is the iPad Pro, only that it features a body finish that makes it look like an Apple laptop.

The latest Power On Newsletter from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is now talking about the upcoming design development for the 2024 iPad Pro. Apple skipped this year's update for the massive iPad to make way for a more significant release that will arrive next year.

Its iPad Pro redesign would give it a sleeker look, as well as capture the boxed-out design that will make it resemble a laptop, complete with its aluminum finish like the MacBook lineup.

While this is already following the old look of the iPad Pro, its accessory would complete more of the look, one that would essentially capture the laptop's likeness.

Magic Keyboard Revamp to Complete PC Look

As per the Bloomberg report from last week (via 9to5 Mac), the look will be completed via the upcoming Magic Keyboard revamp that Apple has planned for the famed accessory.

It will soon show the latest developments by Apple, particularly its aluminum finish for its base, referring to the part of the keyboard where the keys and trackpad are.

Much like the MacBooks, the aluminum finish brings a more premium feel to it, with Apple enlarging more of the detachable keyboard for more area for the trackpad.

Still, the report claims the Magic Keyboard's revamp would still feature the rubber-like finish for its exterior, like a case. It is expected at around $299 for the 11-inch model, and $349 for the 12.9-inch.

Apple's iPad Pro Developments

The most regular updates for iPads now center on the iPad Pro, with Apple bringing a yearly update for the massive tablet that features screens close to its laptop computers. In 2022, Apple introduced the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros that feature the M2 processor, and this was the sixth generation of the massive tablet from the company, complete with a mini LED screen.

However, the iPad Pro was claimed to be skipping this year's release as Apple is preparing for something bigger in the upcoming year, particularly as it plans a major update coming early next year. As per early leaks, 2024 is a massive year for the iPad lineup, and it will focus on the iPad Pro which will finally feature the M3 chip, a release that will take place in its first quarter.

It is set to get the top specs from Apple next year, including the larger 14-inch screen, a MagSafe for wireless charging, the famed M3 4nm processor, and the iPadOS 17 as the base operating system that comes with it. Now, another important update for the iPad Pro is its Magic Keyboard, one that would complement its body to complete the laptop-like looks.
