Lenovo's Steam Deck Versions Costs $799 for a 16GB RAM Model with Up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 Storage Offering

Find out more about the new Lenovo Legion Go.

After the launch of the newer consoles, not much development has been brought to the space aside from the launch of the Steam Deck. With that, it seems like other companies are already starting to develop their own versions of handheld consoles, like Lenovo.

Lenovo Comes with Steam Deck Competitor Called the Legion Go Handheld Gaming Device

According to the story by MS Power User, the Lenovo console is coming with its own version of a handheld device that works quite like a Steam Deck. While this exciting new addition is still in development, news is already starting to come out regarding what buyers can expect from the device.

Earlier in August, there were multiple reports regarding the new Lenovo Legion Go, which is the company's upcoming handheld device. The specs and offering of the console, as well as how it functions, make it a direct competitor of the Steam Deck.

Lenovo Plans to Enter the Handheld Market which is Still Dominated by Valve and ASUS

The device will reportedly be competing in the handheld market, which is still being dominated by the Steam Deck owned by Valve and even the Rog Ally, which was developed by ASUS. This is because the Nintendo Switch can be considered part of a different category as it runs on a different system.

Recently, Windows Report shared exclusive images of the upcoming gaming handheld device by Lenovo, the Legion Go. As noted in the article, although there seems to be not much difference from competitors, what really makes the handheld console stand out is its screen size.

The Console Weighs Significantly More than a Nintendo Switch Device

Official specs have reportedly been revealed regarding the upcoming handheld console starting with it weighing 854g with the controllers. For reference, the Nintendo Switch only weighs 297 grams which means Lenovo's version is almost thrice as heavy.

The device would also be packing a 16GB RAM that runs on 7500 Mhz LPDDR5X technology. As for the storage options, all available memory will be PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD and come with three variants, namely the 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB versions.

The handheld console would be supportive of fast charging and come with a 2-cell 49.2 WHr battery. It would also come with a 2560 x 1600 display packed in an 8.8-inch QHD+ IPS 16:10 screen.

The Device Comes with 144 Hz but Lenovo is Also Selling Separate Glasses for Upgraded Experience

The device would have a refresh rate of 144 Hz and come with a 10-point Touch support allowing for better gaming experience and handling. As for its price, the device is expected to cost $799.

The device will be launching in October and with it, Lenovo also has another gadget that's designed to upgrade the overall gaming experience, the Legion Glasses, which comes with a 1080 Micro OLED display for the eyes.

Aside from that, they also have their own high-fidelity built-in speakers. The Legion Glasses would cost buyers $499.
